A coating composition that includes an allophanate-containing compound can offer improved scratch resistance. The coating composition includes A) at least one allophanate-containing compound having the formula (1): wherein R, R-Rare each independently identical or different hydrocarbyl radicals having 1-8 carbon atoms, which may be branched or cyclic, or else may be integrated together to form a cyclic system, and m and n are each independently 0-2, B) a binder, C) optionally, an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate having an NCO functionality of at least 2, D) optionally, a catalyst, E) optionally, an auxiliary and/or additive, and, F) optionally, a solvent.

Coating compositions comprising monoallophanates based on alkoxysilane alkyl isocyanates

A monoallophanate can be used in paint or adhesive compositions. The monoallophanate has the formula 1: where R, R-Rare each independently identical or different hydrocarbyl radicals having 1-8 carbon atoms, which may be branched or cyclic, or else may be integrated together to form a cyclic system, and m and n are each independently 0-2.

Monoallophanates based on alkoxysilane alkyl isocyanates

An alkoxysilane-functionalized and allophanate-functionalized coating material including a) a binder component of 10-99 wt % of at least one reaction product of I. and II. wherein I includes A) at least one alkoxysilane-containing monourethane A) of the formula 1 R(OR)Si&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)&#x2014;ORwherein R, R, Rand Rrepresent hydrocarbon radicals having 1-8 carbon atoms, and n represents 0-2, and B) at least one diisocyanate B), and II includes the subsequent reaction of C) with at least one diol and/or polyol C), in a ratio of NCO groups of reaction product I to OH groups of the diol and/or polyol II. C) of 1.0:1.5 to 1.0:0.6; b) 1-90 wt % of at least one further binder component distinct from a) a hydroxyl-containing or amino-containing binder component, c) 0-50 wt % of at least one polyisocyanate having an NCO functionality of at least 2, d) 0-5 wt % of at least one catalyst, wherein components a)-d) add up to 100 wt %.

Alkoxysilane- and allophanate-functionalized coating materials

A coating or plastics formulation contains a reaction product of at least one alkoxysilane-containing isocyanurate of the formula (I) with at least one hydrophilizing agent of the formula BOH which has at least one OH group, wherein R, Rand Rin each case independently of one another are a linear or branched and/or cyclic C1-C8 alkylene radical, R', R&#x2033; and R&#x2032;&#x2033; in each case independently of one another are a linear or branched and/or cyclic C1-C8 alkyl radical, and B is a hydrophilic radical.

Hydrophilic, alkoxysilane-containing isocyanurates

The present invention relates to alkoxysilane-functionalized, allophanate-containing coating compositions, to a process for producing them, and to their use. In particular, the alkoxysilane-functionalized, allophanate-containing coating compositions include a) as a binder component, 10-99 wt % of at least one reaction product of i) at least one monourethane i) containing alkoxysilane groups and of the formula 1R(OR)Si&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)&#x2014;OR&#x2003;&#x2003;formula 1where R, R, Rand Rare each independently hydrocarbyl radicals having 1-8 carbon atoms, which may be linear, branched or cyclic, or else may be integrated together to form a cyclic system, and n is 0-2, and ii) at least one diisocyanate ii), in a molar ratio of i) to ii) of from 3:1 to 1.5:1, preferably from 2.5:1 to 1.8:1, particularly preferably 2:1; b) 1-90 wt % of at least one other binder component, different from a), preferably a hydroxyl-containing or amino-containing binder component, c) 0-50 wt % of at least one aromatic, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate having an NCO functionality of at least 2, preferably 2.8 to 6, d) 0-5 wt % of at least one catalyst, where components a)-d) add up to 100 wt %.

Alkoxysilane-functionalized allophanate-containing coating compositions

Provided is a coating material comprising a crosslinker component and a catalyst component, the coating material curing at temperatures of 10 to 80&#xb0; C., to the use of the coating materials to coat a variety of substrates and to coating compositions comprising coating material.
