A method of forming a wind turbine foundation includes providing an anchor cage in an excavation pit, the anchor cage including an upper flange, a lower flange, and a plurality of anchor bolts extending therebetween. A first cementitious material is directed into the excavation pit so that the anchor cage becomes at least partially embedded in the material, which is allowed to cure to form a rigid body. A connecting element is selectively engaged with the upper flange and an actuating element is positioned in operative relation with the connecting element, the connecting and actuating elements positioned in non-contact relation with the anchor bolts. The actuating element is actuated relative to the connecting element to raise the upper flange from the rigid body into a leveled position. A second cementitious material is directed into a space beneath the raised upper flange and is allowed to cure to form a support layer.

Method for forming a wind turbine foundation and related system for forming such a foundation

A method of replacing an anchor bolt used to support a wind turbine to a foundation. The method includes providing the wind turbine and the foundation supporting the wind turbine. The foundation includes a lower base flange, at least one anchor bolt extending between the lower base flange and a lower tower flange of the wind turbine, and a rigid body at least partially formed around the at least one anchor bolt. The method further includes drilling a core in the lower tower flange and the rigid body circumferentially around the anchor bolt and removing the anchor bolt and the core to create a cavity. The method further includes inserting a replacement anchor bolt into the cavity and coupling the replacement anchor bolt to the lower base flange. The replacement anchor bolt may then be tensioned.

Method of replacing anchor bolts in wind turbine foundations

Embodiments of the invention provide a foundation for a wind turbine. The foundation includes a section which is partly embedded in a concrete section and a cover which is arranged across an intersection between the embedded section and the concrete section. In that way, intrusion of water between the sections can be prevented effectively, and the lifetime of the foundation can be increased and/or the maintenance costs can be reduced. A method of making a foundation for a wind turbine and a wind turbine with the foundation are also disclosed.

Foundation for a wind turbine

A wind energy converter includes a wind turbine, a wind turbine foundation including a strengthening structure, and a temperature control mechanism for controlling the temperature of one or more areas of the wind turbine. The wind energy converter is characterized in that at least a part of the temperature control mechanism adjoins the strengthening structure. Also contemplated is a wind turbine foundation including a strengthening structure. The wind turbine foundation is characterized in that the foundation includes at least a part of a temperature control mechanism for heat exchanging with one or more areas of a wind turbine and in that at least a part of the temperature control mechanism adjoins the strengthening structure. Even further contemplated is a method for controlling the temperature of one or more areas of a wind turbine and use of a wind turbine foundation.

Wind energy converter, a wind turbine foundation, a method and use of a wind turbine foundation

The invention provides a tower construction e.g. for a wind mill and a method of laying a foundation of a tower construction. The tower construction () comprises a concrete element (), and a base flange () from which a tower wall () extends upwardly. The base flange is supported by an intermediate support structure () positioned on the concrete element (). The support structure () is more rigid than the concrete element () and comprises a resilient pressure distributing element () which is soft relative to the concrete element (). Furthermore, the invention provides a support structure for a tower construction.

Tower construction

In order to transport large size windmill towers, the invention suggests a steel tower () for a windmill, comprising a number of cylindrical or tapered tower sections (), at least the wider sections () of which being subdivided into two or more elongated shell segments (), which combine into a complete tower section () by means of vertical flanges () tightened together, e.g., by bolts (), said shells being also provided with upper and lower horizontal flanges (), respectively, to allow interconnection of tower sections () one on top of the other.
