A method and a system for transmitting data by a transmitter over a channel having a predetermined channel quality estimate, comprises the steps of splitting (SP) input data stream (S, S, S) to be transmitted into a plurality of data sub-streams (S, S, S); processing (SYM, SYM, SYMj) each of the plurality of data sub-streams (S, S, S) into a plurality of symbol subsets (S, S, S) by selecting a certain scheme of coded-modulation (BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM); processing, separately, each of the plurality of symbol subsets (S, S, S), via a plurality of separate Discrete Fourier Transforms (DFT, DFT, DFT), herein after denoted as DFTs, to obtain a plurality of DFT-precoded data sub-streams (S, S, S); allocating each DFT-precoded data sub-stream (S, S, S) in a frequency resource block (RB, RB, RB), via a sub-carrier mapping module (SCM), so that for each data sub-stream (S, S, S) the selected scheme of coded-modulation (BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM) is chosen in dependence of the values of the channel quality estimate at the frequencies of its own allocated frequency resource block (RB, RB, RB).

Adaptive modulation and coding in a SC-FDMA system

Communication carried out over a frequency band divided into a plurality of subcarriers by messages transmitted between a first radio station and a second radio station in a plurality of hops between respectively adjacent radio stations arranged in hierarchical levels. A subset of the subcarriers is used for each hop. The subsets used are allocated by at least one higher level radio station and the composition of at least one of the subsets used varies over time.

Dynamic allocation of radio resources in a multicarrier communication system

Radio stations in a radio communication system send messages from one radio station to another either directly or via one or several radio stations forwarding the messages by using radio resources. The radio resources are allocated in a decentralized manner to radio stations to send the message. At least one radio station sends information about first radio resources used for sending at least one message to the at least one radio station, the information about the first radio resources being sent by using second radio resources that are allocated to the at least one radio station.

Method for communicating in an ad-hoc radio communication system

In a communication system, a first transmitting station transmits a transmission signal to a first receiving station for transmitting a sequence of data via a radio interface. The radio interface is monitored with respect to an interference signal from an interference source prior to transmission via at least one of the first transmitting station and the first receiving station. The transmission only begins if the radio interface is sufficiently free from interference for a moment in time.

Method and station for transmitting data in a radio communication system

Data symbols, transmitted by OFDM radio using at least two transmission antennae, are coded by a DSTBC coding and a DSTFBC coding. Two adjacent data symbols of a selected sub-carrier are provided for initializing a DSTFBC coding in a sub-carrier direction and are used for DSTFBC coding of similarly positioned data symbols in further sub-carriers in the sub-carrier. The DSTFBC coding is carried out from the data symbols of the first sub-carrier direction. In each sub-carrier the two data symbols formed by DSTFBC coding are used for initializing a DSTBC coding in the OFDM symbol direction. In the reverse direction, two sequential DSTBC coded data symbols on a first sub-carrier for initializing a DSTFBC coding in a sub-carrier direction and are used for DSTFBC coding of similarly positioned data symbols in further sub-carriers for DSTFBC coding from the data symbols of the first sub-carrier over the adjacent sub-carriers.

Method for coding data symbols

In an OFDM multi carrier modulation method, M sub-carriers are used in a frequency band of a broadband mobile radio channel and several symbols are used in a time band. With application of a MIMO multi-antenna method with T transmitting antennae and R receiving antennae, for all sub-carriers and all symbols, a single, pre-determined, channel-matched transmission strategy is used, which is described by a maximum of T*R complex values on the signal side, independent of the species of the MIMO multi-antenna method and independent of the size of the frequency/time bands.

Method for digital wireless message transmission over a broadband mobile radio channel

The invention relates to a method for transmitting signals in a radio communication system consisting of at least two frequency signal-transmitting channels. At least the first (fcoord) of said frequency channels is used for organizing radio resources, and at least the second (fi) of the frequency channels is used for transmitting signals between the stations of the system where the signal transmission is carried out by the frequency channels from/in a direction of said stations in conformity with a predefined temporal pattern (P, P, P).
