A connector described herein includes a circuit board housing, circuit board terminals, an electric cable housing, electric wire terminals, and a holder. The circuit board housing is fixed to a circuit board. The circuit board terminals are held by the circuit board housing. The electric cable housing is coupled to an end of the electric cable. The electric wire terminals are held by the electric cable housing. The holder maintains electrical connection between the circuit board terminals and the electric wire terminals. The holder is fixed to the circuit board housing and the electric cable housing. The holder has a strength less than a strength of the circuit board housing and a strength of the electric cable housing.

Board-to-cable connector

The present invention aims to miniaturize a housing. Disclosed is a connector including a female housing () having a terminal accommodating chamber () formed therein, a first terminal fitting () inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber (), an elastically displaceable lock arm () formed in the female housing (), an accommodating recess () formed in the female housing () and communicating with a deflection space () of the lock arm (), a terminal holding member () mounted in the accommodating recess (), and a pair of second terminal fittings () connected to a twisted pair wire () and attached to the terminal holding member ().

Miniaturized connector with a terminal holding member

A connector has parts that can be used in common as much as possible in different specifications to reduce cost and to facilitate parts management. In a first specification having a high shielding function, a terminal fitting () connected to a shielded electric wire () is accommodated in a dielectric (). The dielectric () is surrounded by an outer conductor () that is connected to a braided wire (). The second specification requires no shielding function, and thus the outer conductor () is not used. Rather, a sub-housing () having the same shape and size as the outer conductor () of the first specification is used. The sub-housing () is configured to accommodate and retain the terminal fitting () and is locked in a same retained state as in the first specification when accommodated in a common housing () used in both specifications.

Connector

A connector structure includes a connector body that includes wiring in an internal section; an opening of the connector body, the opening being positioned to overlap the wiring when being viewed in a predetermined direction, the opening communicating with the internal section; and a probe holding mechanism in the opening, the probe holding mechanism blocking up the opening. The probe holding mechanism is configured to have a probe inserted through the probe holding mechanism in the predetermined direction and is configured to, when the probe is inserted through the probe holding mechanism, deform and hold the probe.

Connector structure

A connector is capable of replacing an STP cable (B) and a UTP cable (A) without a large structural change. UTP connection terminals (A) are accommodated in accommodating portions () of a UTP dielectric (A) that are close to each other in a width direction. Thus, elastic contact pieces () thereof are located inside and close to each other in the width direction, while receiving portions () are located outside and spaced from each other in the width direction. STP connection terminals (B) are accommodated in accommodating portions () of an STP dielectric (B) that are spaced more apart in the width direction than those of the UTP dielectric (A). Thus, elastic contact pieces () thereof are located outside and are spaced from each other in the width direction, while receiving portions () thereof are located inside so as to be close to each other in the width direction.

Connector structure that is reconfigurable to accommodate either an STP cable or a UTP cable

The connector structure selectively uses either a UTP connector or an STP connector. The UTP connector includes UTP connection terminals connected to respective electric wires of a UTP cable and a UTP dielectric having a pair of housing portions in which the UTP connection terminals are housed. The STB connector includes STP connection terminals connected to respective electric wires of an STP cable and an STP dielectric having a pair of housing portions in which the STP connection terminals are housed. In the UTP dielectric, at least a partition wall for partitioning the pair of housing portions is made of a material having a relatively high dielectric constant. In the STP dielectric, at least a partition wall for partitioning the pair of housing portions is made of a material having a relatively low dielectric constant.

A male internal conductor and a female internal conductor are reliably connected. When female-side and male-side dielectric bodies () approach each other in an opposing positional relationship, a tab () of a male internal conductor () is inserted into a female-side dielectric body () and connected to a female internal conductor (). The female-side dielectric body () has an opposing surface (S) facing the male-side dielectric body () and formed with a female-side positioning portion (). The male-side dielectric body () has an opposing surface (S) facing the female-side dielectric body () and formed with a male-side positioning portion () which is disposed ahead of the tab () and which can be fitted with the female-side positioning portion () in a state where the tab () is not in contact with the female-side dielectric body ().

A connector includes a housing () having a terminal accommodation chamber () formed therein, and a first terminal fitting () can be inserted into the terminal accommodation chamber (). A retainer () can be assembled to the housing () at a temporary locking position and at a final locking position, and a terminal holding member () can be assembled to the housing (). A second terminal fitting () is attached to the terminal holding member (). Interference parts () are formed in the retainer () and the terminal holding member (), respectively. The interference parts do not interfere with each other when the retainer () is in the final locking position. However, the interference parts interfere with each other to prevent the terminal holding member () from being assembled to the housing () when the retainer () is in the temporary locking position.

A terminal connecting structure includes a male terminal having a rod-shaped portion, a female terminal having a cylindrical portion, and an elastic member provided in the cylindrical portion. The female terminal has indented portions. A projecting portion is provided on one of the rod-shaped portion and a central portion of the cylindrical portion. A cut-out portion is provided on the other of the rod-shaped portion and the central portion of the cylindrical portion. The projecting portion fits the cut-out portion when the male terminal fits in the female terminal.

Terminal connecting structure

A connector is attachable to a front end of a cable in a front-rear direction. The cable comprises coated signal cables and an outer member which protects the signal cables. The connector comprises terminals, a holding member, a shell, an assigned portion and an impedance adjusting portion. The terminals are attached to the signal cables, respectively, under an attached state where the connector is attached to the front end of the cable. The holding member holds the terminals. The shell covers the holding member to have a predetermined surface which intersects with a perpendicular direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction. The assigned portion is located on the outer member of the cable under the attached state. The impedance adjusting portion is located forward of the assigned portion in the front-rear direction and located inward in the perpendicular direction in comparison with both the predetermined surface and the assigned portion.

Connector attachable to a cable which comprises a plurality of signal cables and wire harness using the same

An attachment structure between an exterior member and a posterior attaching component to be attached to the exterior member includes: the exterior member that has a tube body shape and is included in a wire harness that has one or a plurality of conductive paths, the exterior member covering the conductive path. The exterior member includes a straight tube section that has a straight shape and is an attachment target section of the posterior attaching component. Multiple protrusions are formed on an outer surface of the straight tube section and include a plurality of protrusion groups arranged in rows, each of the plurality of protrusion groups includes the protrusions arranged at predetermined pitches in a tube axial direction, and the multiple protrusions are configured to be inserted into an annular wall of the posterior attaching component.
