The present invention is intended to control the color temperature of white exhibited by a liquid crystal display device. White is produced when light waves emitted through pixels associated with three colors of red, green, and blue have maximum intensities. The amounts of light emitted through the respective pixels are controlled by differentiating the shapes of the pixel electrodes disposed at the respective pixels from one another. Thus, the color temperature of white is controlled. Otherwise, the shapes of interceptive films disposed at the respective pixels are differentiated from one another in order to control light waves emitted through the respective pixels. Thus, the color temperature of white is controlled. The interceptive film may be shaped like the pixel electrode. Otherwise, the interceptive film may be realized with an interceptive pattern other than that of the pixel electrode or one of openings bored in a black matrix.

Display device

A display device includes: pixel transistors electrically connected to the respective source lines and the respective gate lines; a monitor transistor in which a lead-out wiring of a drain electrode is electrically connected to a first external terminal, a lead-out wiring of a gate electrode is electrically connected to a second external terminal, and a lead-out wiring of a source electrode is electrically connected to a third external terminal; a reference transistor in which a lead-out wiring of a drain electrode is electrically connected to a fourth external terminal, a lead-out wiring of a gate electrode is electrically connected to a fifth external terminal, and a lead-out wiring of a source electrode is electrically connected to a sixth external terminal; and a detector electrically connected to the third external terminal and the sixth external terminal to detect a shift amount of a threshold voltage of the monitor transistor.

A display device is provided. The display device comprises a plurality of data lines extending in a first direction. The display device also comprises a plurality of gate lines. The plurality of gate lines comprises a first gate line, a second gate line and a third gate line extending in a second direction different than the first direction to form a matrix with the plurality of data lines. The first gate line and the second gate line are separated from each other and are arranged in a same row of the matrix. The display device further comprises a first gate connector line and a second gate connector line, respectively, electrically connecting the first gate line and the second gate line to one or two gate drivers. The first gate connector line and the second gate connector line extend in the first direction.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method for driving LCD. Such a device may have a plurality of LCD pixels in a matrix, a driver that inputs a drive signal to each pixel selectively and a controller that controls a level and a polarity of the drive signal, and a memory storing corrected charge voltage values. Each pixel is provided with the drive signal based on the corrected charge voltage values for the corresponding pixel during the entirety of a horizontal period, and the corrected charge voltage value has a predetermined value corresponding to a charge for an intended gray scale level of the pixel at the end of the horizontal period without an over shooting of the driving voltage. When the target gray scale of the pixels is at the brightest level, a predetermined negative corrected charge is applied to the pixel to avoid an after image.

A liquid crystal display device includes an image display area including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, and a peripheral area disposed outside the image display area and including circuitry. The peripheral area includes a first potential supply layer, a second potential supply layer and a third potential supply layer. The first potential supply layer is provided to supply a potential to a common electrode of the plurality of pixels in the image display area. The third potential supply layer is connected to power supply circuitry for receiving the potential. The second potential supply layer includes bridge patterns separated by spaces, and the bridge patterns connect the first potential supply layer and the second potential supply layer.

Liquid crystal display device and manufacturing method thereof

A method of manufacturing a display device is provided. The display device includes a display region divided into a first display region and a second display region by a border region extending in the second direction, a plurality of data lines including a plurality of first data lines arranged in the first display region, and a plurality of second data lines arranged in the second display region. Each of the plurality of first data lines and each of the plurality of second data lines are electrically isolated from each other. The method includes steps of forming a plurality of conductive lines on a substrate extending from a top side to a bottom side of the display region in the first direction, and separating the plurality of conductive lines into the plurality of first data lines and the plurality of second data lines.

Display device and method of manufacturing display device

A display device comprises: control circuit substrates disposed in a rear surface of a display panel, a control circuit that generates a control signal in order to control a data line driving circuit and a gate line driving circuit; gate connecting wirings; and a substrate connecting wiring, wherein each of the control circuit substrates includes: a first-side gate connecting part disposed on a first side; and a second-side substrate connecting part disposed on a second side, and the first-side gate connecting part and the second-side substrate connecting part are disposed so as not to overlap each other when the control circuit substrate is viewed in the first direction from the first side toward the second side.

A display device with built-in touch detection function, the display device includes source lines, detection lines, common lines, gate lines, pixels, control elements, each applying to a corresponding pixel a voltage, a common line driving circuit including a pulse generator that sequentially drives the common lines, the pulse generator generating a first pulse signal for each of the common lines, a pulse compensator, the pulse compensator generating a second pulse signal based on the first pulse signal and the potential input from each of the common lines, the second pulse signal reducing a variation in potential at each of the common lines in response to a potential at each of the source lines, the pulse compensator outputting the second pulse signal to a corresponding common line, and a touch detector that detects a position specified by a user according to the second pulse signal.

In a liquid crystal display device, in a first half of one horizontal scanning period, a first data line driver circuit outputs a corrected grayscale voltage obtained by correcting an input grayscale voltage corresponding to input display data to a plurality of data lines, and a second data line driver circuit is electrically disconnected from the plurality of data lines, and in a second half of one horizontal scanning period, the second data line driver circuit outputs an input grayscale voltage corresponding to the input display data to the plurality of data lines, and the first data line driver circuit is electrically disconnected from the plurality of data lines.

Liquid crystal display device including display panel and display control circuit

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate disposed in opposition. The first substrate includes gate lines, data lines, pixel electrodes, and an insulating film being superimposed, in plan view, over the gate lines, the data lines, and the pixel electrodes. The second substrate includes a first colored portion transmitting light of a first color, a second colored portion transmitting light of a second color, and a light-shielding portion disposed in a boundary area between the first colored portion and the second colored portion, for blocking transmittance of light of the first color and light of the second color. The insulating film includes a first portion overlapping, in plan view, the first colored portion or the second colored portion, and a second portion overlapping, in plan view, the light-shielding portion and being of thicker film thickness than the first portion.

A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixel regions. Each of the pixel regions includes a thin-film transistor, a transparent conductive pixel electrode connected to the thin-film transistor, a first common electrode, a first insulating film disposed between the pixel electrode and the first common electrode, a second insulating film, a second common electrode that includes a plurality of slits, and a third insulating film. Liquid crystal display and method of manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display is provided that includes a first substrate on a back surface side, a second substrate on a display surface side and a liquid crystal layer provided between the first and second substrates. The display also includes a plurality of sub-pixels including one or more green sub-pixels and one or more non-green sub-pixels. The first substrate includes first and second wirings provided at the boundary between adjacent sub-pixels. When a green sub-pixel is adjacent to a non-green sub-pixel, the first wiring is provided at a shifted position that is closer to the non-green sub-pixel than the green sub-pixel. Accordingly, when a non-green image is to be displayed, the display can reduce the amount of color mixing of light passing through a green color filter with the light passing through a non-green color filter, particularly when the display is viewed at oblique angles.
