Provided is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell in which heat generation is suppressed. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell according to the invention has a positive electrode including positive electrode active material particles and a negative electrode including negative electrode active material particles. The negative electrode active material particles are carbon-black-adhered carbon-based negative electrode active material particles which are constituted by a carbon material having a graphite structure in at least part thereof and which have carbon black (CB) particles that have adhered to at least part of a surface portion. The positive electrode active material particles are of a hollow structure having a shell and a hollow portion. The average short diameter A of the CB particles in the carbon-black-adhered carbon-based negative electrode active material particles and an average inner diameter B of the hollow portions in the positive electrode active material particles fulfill the relationship: 1.2&#x2266;B/A&#x2266;260.

Nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell

Provided is a sealed battery with improved safety and reliability in which no spark discharge or voltage recovery occurs after a current interrupt mechanism has been actuated. A sealed batteryincludes a current interrupt mechanism: having an inversion plateand a collector. The collectorand the inversion plateare electrically and mechanically joined in the easily breakable sectionand the inversion section, the easily breakable sectionis broken and displaced together with the inversion sectionby the displacement of the inversion section, and the electric connection of the collectorand the inversion plateis interrupted. The distance between the collectorand the easily breakable sectionafter the displacement is within a range of 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm.

Sealed battery including current interrupting mechanism

A method is provided for manufacturing an electrode that has a porous inorganic layer on the surface of an active material layer and is suitable for constructing a nonaqueous secondary battery with excellent input-output performance. In this manufacturing method, an electrode perform, which has an active material layer () consisting primarily of active material particles () and supported on a collector (), is prepared. The water concentration of at least the surface () of the active material layer () is adjusted to 100 ppm to 500 ppm. A slurry (S) containing inorganic particles (), a binder and an organic solvent is coated on the surface () of the active material layer with the water concentration thus adjusted, to form a porous inorganic layer.

Method for manufacturing nonaqueous secondary battery electrode

A high-reliability prismatic secondary battery with a current interruption mechanism that is unlikely to be damaged even if the battery is subjected to shock is provided. The prismatic secondary battery includes a second insulating member having a first through-hole, the second insulating member being arranged between a first region of a positive electrode collector and an inversion plate. The first region of the positive electrode collector and the inversion plate are electrically connected to each other through the first through-hole. The second insulating member has a plurality of fixing pawl portions. The fixing pawl portions are hooked and fixed to a fixing portion formed on the outer surface side of the conductive member.

Prismatic secondary battery

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a secondary battery () containing a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. This method comprises a step (S) for preparing an electrode assembly () having positive and negative electrode sheets (), a step (S) for immersing the electrode assembly () into a nonaqueous liquid (), and a step (S, S) for placing the electrode assembly () after immersion into a battery container () together with a nonaqueous electrolyte solution (). By performing the immersion process, the water content in the electrode assembly () moves into the nonaqueous liquid ().

Method for manufacturing secondary battery

The lithium-ion battery provided by the present invention has an electrode assembly () obtained by superposing and winding together a long continuous positive electrode sheet () and negative electrode sheet () with a separator () interposed therebetween. An active material layer () is formed on the negative electrode sheet (), with a band-shaped margin being left on one edge thereof along the lengthwise direction of the collector (). The above band-shaped portion () sticks out beyond the edge of the positive electrode sheet (). On the exterior surface of the negative active material layer (), a porous inorganic layer () is formed starting at the flat part () of the active material layer, wrapping around the edge () thereof, and extending to the surface of the collector ().
