A compressor has a compression unit for compressing gas to a desired pressure, a drive shaft and a balancer. The drive shaft is connected to the compression unit for driving the compression unit. Imbalance on the drive shaft is generated due to movement of the compression unit. The balancer is mounted on the drive shaft and includes a main portion and adjustable portion for correcting the imbalance on the drive shaft. Preferably, at least one of the weight and the shape of the adjustable portion is adjustable.

An air supply system for a fuel cell is disclosed, in which a compression chamber ( ) of an air supply mechanism (GS) is adapted to supply air to a fuel cell (FC). A liquefaction unit ( ) acting as a water supply mechanism (WS) supplies water to the air supply mechanism (GS) to seal and cool the compression chamber ( ). The liquefaction chamber ( ) separates water from the exhaust gas discharged from the fuel cell (FC) and supplies the water to the air supply mechanism (GS). The air supply mechanism (GS) and the liquefaction unit ( ) are integrated with each other.

A compressor has a compression unit, a drive motor, a motor housing and an outer cylinder. The compression unit compresses fluid. The drive motor drives the compression unit. The motor housing surrounds the drive motor. The outer cylinder is mounted on an outer circumferential side of the motor housing for defining a cooling jacket between the outer cylinder and the motor housing for cooling the drive motor by a fluid flowing in the cooling jacket. The outer cylinder is indirectly fixed to the motor housing by press-fitting.

A scroll type compressor includes a housing, a fixed scroll member, a movable scroll member, a discharge port, a cooling chamber and a gas cooler. The fixed scroll member is fixed to the housing. The movable scroll member is accommodated in the housing and defining a compression region with the fixed scroll member where gas is compressed by orbiting the movable scroll member relative to the fixed scroll member. The compressed gas is discharged from the compression region through the discharge port. The cooling chamber for cooling the compressed gas is disposed in the vicinity of the compression region in the housing. The gas cooler for passing the gas discharged from the discharge port extends along the cooling chamber.

Scroll type compressor

A scroll type compressor has a housing, a drive shaft, a fixed scroll member, a movable scroll member, a suction port and a discharge port. The drive shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The fixed scroll member is fixed to the housing. The movable scroll member is accommodated in the housing, and the faces the fixed scroll member. The housing and the fixed scroll member define a cooling region. The fixed scroll member and the movable scroll member define a compression region. The suction port introduces gas into the compressor. The discharge port discharges the gas. Heat resistant means is disposed at least between the cooling region and the compression region. Heat resistance of the heat resistant means adjacent to the outermost compression region is greater than that of the heat resistant means adjacent to the innermost compression region.

A compression regenerative machine for a fuel cell according to the present invention comprises a displacement type compression mechanism portion C connected to an oxygen-containing gas supply side of a fuel cell F, and a displacement type regenerative mechanism portion E connected to an exhaust discharge side of the fuel cell F. A confined compression chamber defined by the compression mechanism portion C and a confined regenerative chamber defined by the regenerative mechanism portion E have a capacity ratio of 1.25 to 3.

A fuel cell system including a fuel cell having an air feeding tube, an air discharging tube and a fuel feeding tube, the air discharged from the fuel cell through the air discharging tube containing water. The system also includes a compressor, a water separation tank, and a water supply passage for supplying water collected in the water separation tank to the compressor. When the system is to be stopped, the water supply passage is first blocked while the compressor is operating. The humidity or the temperature of the process air is then detected, and the compressor is stopped when the detected humidity is lower than a predetermined value, or when the detected temperature is higher than a predetermined value.

Method for preventing compressor from freezing in automobile fuel cell system

A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell, a motor, a scroll type compressor connected to the air feeding pipe of the fuel cell and a scroll type regenerator connected to the air exhaust pipe of the fuel cell. The compressor and the regenerator share a movable scroll which is operatively coupled to the motor output shaft. The movable scroll has a common base plate, a first scrolling wall arranged on one side of the common base plate to engage with a scrolling wall of a stationary scroll of the compressor, and a second scrolling wall arranged on the other side of the common base plate to engage with a scrolling wall of a stationary scroll of the regenerator. This arrangement simplifies the structure and facilitates power assistance to the compressor.
