A braking device for an magnetic tape apparatus includes a switching unit for selectively transmitting the rotation of a capstan motor to a take-up reel table or to a supply reel table, a clutch for changing the switching unit to a slide rotation mode or to a direct-coupled rotation mode, a brake, a loading motor for driving the brake, and an end sensor. Based on a tape end detection signal produced during an operation in a fast forward mode, the capstan motor is rotated in reverse to permit the switching unit to select a second path, while the switching unit is maintained in the direct-coupled mode. Thereafter, the capstan motor is halted, and the loading motor is rotated to use the brake to halt the take-up reel table.

Braking device for magnetic tape apparatus

A tape loading apparatus having a first swinging arm. When a loading pin of the first swinging arm is elastically pressed against a positioning stopper at a loading position by an elastic force of a spring member, a joint portion of the first swinging arm maintains bent attitude having an angle smaller than 180&deg; and no-tooth portion of a loading gear is in contact with a no-tooth portion of a mode gear. Even in case where a reactive force of the spring member causes the loading gear to generate a rotation force, the rotation force is received by a shaft member supporting the mode gear.

Tape loading apparatus and tape recorder

A device for exchanging a tape drive mode so to maintain a satisfied timing by which a tension mechanism for applying a tension to a tape between tape reels is kept to its tension place until the tape transport by a capstan roller together with a pinch roller is exerted after the power transmission is exchanged to either one of the tape reels for shifting the device from the playing/recording mode to the rewinding mode.
