An imaging unit includes a support body; a photoconductor supported by the support body; a developing device supported by the support body to swing about a pivot arranged at a pivot portion, and including a development roller having a gap holding member that contacts a portion of the photoconductor; and a driven coupling member provided at a first end portion of the development roller, and removably coupled to a driving coupling member to which a rotational power is transmitted. The pivot portion is arranged so that the developing device swings toward the photoconductor by self weight. The driving or driven coupling member has at least three protruding portions that restrict rotation of the developing device when the members are coupled. The development roller rotates in a generation direction of an action that causes the developing device to swing toward the photoconductor when receives the rotational power and is rotationally driven.

A relationship 0&#x2266;X&#x2266;R+kRW (where k=10 to 12) is established, when X (m) is a distance from a center of a transport pole to a position where a straight line crosses a rotating section, R (m) is a chain standing length of developer on the transport pole, W (m/s) is a peripheral velocity of the developing unit, and k is a coefficient. The transport pole is adjacent to a development pole and is situated downstream of the development pole in a direction of rotation of the rotating section. An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a latent image carrier, and a developing device. The developing device includes a container, a supporter, first and second developer-transporting members, first and second magnets, a pair of first urging members, and a pair of second urging members. The pair of first urging members presses the container toward the latent image carrier while being interposed between the supporter and the container. The first urging members serve as two vertexes of a first triangle surrounding the center of gravity of part of the developing device excluding the supporter. The pair of second urging members presses the container toward the latent image carrier while being interposed between the supporter and the container. The second urging members serve as two vertexes of a second triangle surrounding the center of gravity of part of the developing device excluding the supporter.

A developing device includes: a first developing body that develops a developing agent image on a development surface using a developing agent; a second developing body that develops a developing agent image on the development surface using the developing agent; and a sealing member that is disposed between a region where a first delivery pole and a second delivery pole are opposed to each other and the development surface, and adjacently to the first developing body and the second developing body at distances so small that developing agents formed as magnetic brushes on a first conveyance pole and a second conveyance pole respectively can touch the sealing member to secure sealing to prevent the developing agent from leaking to the outside of a device body.

A removable member-holding device is provided and includes: a pull-out member that is supported so as to be movable between an accommodation position and a pull-out position; a rotatable holder that is supported by the pull-out member so as to be rotatable around a rotation shaft and supported so as to be movable integrally with the pull-out member, and that holds a removable member which is attached to and detached from the image forming apparatus main body, the rotatable holder being movable between an insertion possible position where the pull-out member is movable from the pull-out position toward the accommodation position and an inclined position where the rotatable holder rotates downward in a direction of a gravity around the rotation shaft and is inclined with respect to the insertion possible position; and a regulating member that is disposed at the rotation shaft of the rotatable holder to lessen a movement speed of the rotatable holder when rotationally moving to the inclined position.

Removable member-holding device and image forming apparatus

A developer container is provided with a container body. An opening is formed through the container body. An opening/closing lid closes the opening. A lid holding frame holds the opening/closing lid in such a manner that the opening/closing lid can move between an open position and a closed position. A stopper stops the opening/closing lid and thereby preventing it from moving toward the open position in a state that the opening/closing lid is located at the closed position. A contact portion comes into contact with a hook portion provided in a container receiving portion when the developer container is inserted into the container receiving portion. A deformable portion deforms the stopper to such an extent that the stopping of the opening/closing lid by the stopper is canceled when the developer container is inserted into the container receiving portion and the contact portion comes into contact with the hook portion.

Developer container and image forming apparatus using the same

A removable member-holding device is provided and includes: a pull-out member being movably between an accommodating position and a pull-out position; a holding member supported on the pull-out member and having a holding member body, the holding member being extended in a moving direction of the pull-out member and holding a removable member which is removed from the image forming apparatus body, the holding member being movable between an insertion enabling position and a removing position; and a pull-out regulating member provided on a downstream end of the holding member in the pull-out direction and regulating a movement of the removable member to a downstream side in the pull-out direction.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming apparatus body that includes a container attaching portion to which a developer container is removably attached; a container put-on member on which the developer container is put; and a support member to which the container put-on member is attached, the support member supporting the container put-on member to perform a movement between a first position in which the container put-on member is at the container attaching portion and a second position in which the container put-on member is pulled out from the container attaching portion, wherein at the second position, at least a part of the container put-on member is displaced downward through a rotating shaft provided on the support member to a lower position than a height of the container put-on member at the second position in the direction of gravity.
