A towing device for connecting an automatic guided vehicle to a carriage is disclosed. When connecting an automatic guided vehicle to a carriage, a swing arm is moved toward a connecting member by a moving device, whereby the swing arm is engaged with the connecting member to thereby regulate the swiveling (swinging) of the connecting member with respect to the automatic guided vehicle. Furthermore, after the automatic guided vehicle is connected to the carriage, the swing arm is moved in a direction away from the connecting member by the moving device, whereby the engagement between the swing arm and the connecting member is released, thereby allowing the connecting member to swivel (swing) with respect to the automatic guided vehicle.

A towing device of an automatic guided vehicle is mounted on the automatic guided vehicle for towing a cart. The towing device includes a hook member and a driving device. The hook member is engageable with a cart and is to be engaged with the cart in an elastically biased state at least when towing the cart. The driving device is for driving the hook member.

A towing device for an automatic guided vehicle that tows a carriage is disclosed. The towing device includes a connecting member, one end of which is connected to the automatic guided vehicle, and a hook member connected to the other end of the connecting member. One end of the connecting member is swivelably connected to the automatic guided vehicle. A swivel shaft axis line of the connecting member and a swivel shaft axis line of a drive unit of the automatic guided vehicle are configured to be coaxial.

An automatic guided vehicle drive device includes a top plate member, a drive unit, a holding plate member and a turning shaft mechanism. The drive unit has left and right wheel axles attached to left and right wheels, respectively. The holding plate member is coupled between the top plate member and the drive unit to pivotally hold the drive unit with respect to a movement direction. The turning shaft mechanism is coupled between the top plate member and the holding plate member to turnably support the drive unit about a vertical line passing through an intersection between an axial centerline of the wheel axles and a middle line oriented in the movement direction and passes through an approximate middle position between the wheel axles while exerting a force along the vertical line in a direction of separating the drive unit from the top plate member via the holding plate member.
