An information recording apparatus (SSI) is provided with: a signal process device () for applying a predetermined signal process to a plurality of partial record information blocks constructing whole record information (R) to thereby generate processed partial record information blocks (Sr) each composed of a plurality of predetermined information units (IU), and for generating and outputting recording position information (Sac), which is to be recorded by each of predetermined reproduction units (VOBU) composing the information units, for respective one of the reproduction units. The recording position information indicates recording positions of the reproduction units corresponding to reproduction times of the partial record information blocks within a predetermined range before and after the respective one of the reproduction units on an axis of reproduction time of each of the partial record information blocks. The information recording apparatus is also provided with; a multiplex device () for multiplexing the processed partial record information blocks and the recording position information by each of the reproduction units to thereby output multiplexed partial record information (Sap); and a record device () for recording the multiplexed partial record information onto the information record medium.

According to the present invention, there is provided an information recording apparatus in which, even when the apparatus is an information recording apparatus which cannot previously determine that a recording signal with any attribute is inputted, a recording signal conformable to DVD video standards which is recorded in an available optical disc can be prevented from being illegally copied. The information recording apparatus includes a CPU for detecting whether a recording signal to be inputted from the outside is a specific recording signal having characteristics as a recording signal recorded in an available optical disc and, when it is detected that the recording signal is the specific recording signal, inhibiting the recording signal from being recorded in an optical disc.

There is provided an information record medium on which information is recorded so as to permit, even when a reading-out error occurs, subsequent reproduction, an apparatus for recording the same and an apparatus for reproducing the same. According to the recording apparatus of the present invention, there are recorded, on the information record medium of the present invention, data groups provided with data units having at least one of video information and audio information, and reproduction control information having the first identification information for identifying each data group; and the second identification information for identifying the data group to which each data unit belongs, is recorded in each data unit.
