In an active matrix display device, one source line is arranged for every two pixels arranged along a gate line direction, and each two pixels which are adjacent to each other along the gate line direction across one of the source lines share the source line and are each connected to different gate lines. A gate driver block performs a first driving control which sequentially selects, in a first order, the gate lines in a pair of two gate lines corresponding to two pixels which are adjacent to each other along the gate line direction and are connected to different source lines. The gate driver block also performs a second driving control which sequentially selects, in a second order which is opposite to the first order, the gate lines in such a pair of two gate lines.

A liquid crystal display apparatus to which the present invention is applied has a first data conversion circuit and a second data conversion circuit. The first data conversion circuit converts each predetermined number of display data included in prepared display data into pixel data in which the respective display data are arranged in a predetermined arranging order and in time-series. The second data conversion circuit is provided for each the predetermined number of signal lines included in the display apparatus and sequentially applies display signal voltages corresponding to the pixel data to the predetermined number of signal lines respectively. An active matrix type display device in which one signal line is provided for every two pixels along a given direction and in which two pixels adjacent in the given direction on respective sides of one signal line share the signal line and are connected to respective different scanning lines, through switching elements. A scanning line driving circuit selects the plurality of scanning lines in turn, and a signal line driving circuit outputs signals according to information to be displayed to the plurality of signal lines. A power supply circuit includes at least one capacitor, a plurality of switching members, a power supply which outputs a plurality of voltages and a selecting section for controlling said plurality of switching sections to periodically select one of said plurality of voltages and apply the selected voltage to one terminal and the other terminal of the capacitor. The selecting section includes a member for applying the selected voltage to one terminal and the other terminal of the capacitor across a resistor, during a current limiting period immediately after the application of the selected one of said plurality of voltages to one terminal and another terminal of the capacitor is started.

In a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus of a rotary head type, a magnetic head having two gaps of different azimuth angles is installed on the rotary drum and a switching signal, the polarity of which is inverted every rotation of the rotary drum is generated. The duty of the switching signal is adjusted so as to correspond to a time-difference between the two gaps of the above head. The timings of the recording operation and the reproducing operation to be performed by the magnetic head are controlled on the basis of the above adjusted switching signal.
