A disconnection mechanism for a dark current fuse provides a connecting terminal connecting the dark current fuse, a fuse block body receiving the connecting terminal, and a fuse holder slidably engaged with the fuse block body in a direction of connecting the dark current fuse, the fuse holder provides a cutaway opening exposing a head of the dark current fuse being therein, an engaging projection disposed at an opening edge of the cutaway opening for engaging the head, and a supporting wall portion contacting a trunk of the dark current fuse. The disconnection mechanism is not necessary to store the extracted dark current fuse after a dark current fuse circuit is opened, so that there arises no possibility of missing the extracted dark current fuse, the dark current fuse can be extracted by using a puller, and the dark current fuse is surely held with being prevented from slipping off.

Disconnection mechanism for a dark current fuse

A disconnection mechanism for a dark current fuse provides a connecting terminal connecting the dark current fuse, a fuse block body receiving the connecting terminal, and a fuse holder slidably engaged with the fuse block body in a direction of connecting the dark current fuse, the fuse holder provides a cutaway opening exposing a head of the dark current fuse being therein, an engaging projection disposed at an opening edge of the cutaway opening for engaging the head, and a supporting wall portion contacting a trunk of the dark current fuse. The disconnection mechanism is not necessary to store the extracted dark current fuse after a dark current fuse circuit is opened, so that there arises no possibility of missing the extracted dark current fuse, the dark current fuse can be extracted by using a puller, and the dark current fuse is surely held and prevented from slipping off.

To assure that electrical connection and disconnection can be achieved without any removal of dark current fuses from a fuse holder, a mechanism for connecting them to and disconnecting them from opponent contact terminals. The mechanism includes a fuse holder having the dark current fuses received therein, a fuse block having the contact members received therein, provisional engaging mechanism serving to hold terminal tabs of each dark current fuse in the electrically disconnected state and firm engaging mechanism serving to hold the terminal tabs in the electrically connected state. The provisional engaging mechanism is constructed of provisional engagement projections on the fuse block and engagement pawls on the fuse holder. The firm engaging mechanism is constructed of firm engagement projections on the fuse block and engagement portions of engagement wall portions on the fuse holder. Alternatively, the provisional engaging mechanism may be constructed of guide projections and engagement projections on the fuse block and cutout grooves and provisional engagement projections on the fuse holder. In this case, firm engagement projections are formed at the position in the vicinity of the terminal ends of the cutout grooves.

Mechanism for electrically connecting and disconnecting dark current

A fuse holder construction enables retention of fuses within a fuse box when the fuses are disconnected. In one embodiment, retainer portions are formed on guide walls surrounding a fuse insertion position, for holding the fuse in place when it is inserted, and for holding it out of the way when the fuse is disconnected. In another embodiment, flexible retainer portions are formed on a fuse box cover an opening is provided opposite the fuse insertion position, and the flexible retainer portions are provided beneath the opening.

Fuse holder construction

A watertight sealing lip for a grommet is disclosed which tightly seals a gap between a wall of a panel or the like and an electric wire extending through a hole of the wall. The lip is annular and obliquely extends from an end of a cylindrical portion of the grommet toward the wall so that the tip of the lip comes into contact with said wall. An inside surface facing the wall is provided with a plurality of watertight sealing projections which extend in the circumferential direction of the lip and whose cross sections are sequentially enlarged from the tip of said lip toward the end of the cylindrical portion.

Cover for an electrical connector

A grommet for preventing water from leaking through the hole of a panel having a hard portion 10 made of a hard material and fixedly fitted in the hole of a panel, and a soft portion 20 made of a soft material and including an electric cord insertion part 23 and a waterproofing part 24. The hard portion is composed of a plurality of split parts whose coupled faces are provided with guide bars 16 and guide holes 17 in which the bars are slidably fitted so that the split parts can be moved away from each other in an expansionary manner as they remain coupled to each other to allow for insertion of the cord.

Grommet

A clip of T-shape molded from a polymer material has a holder portion for securely holding an associated wiring harness longitudinal and a retainer portion for securing the clip in position within its mounting room specified in an automobile. Both of the two portions are integral with each other through a bridging or middle portion. The bridging portion is formed with vertical recesses on its both sides, tapered in profile, formed hollow, or otherwise formed in a manner to reduce its mass. The harness-clip assembly, when fitting into its mounting room through a hole on the enclosure panel, can conveniently be bent resiliently with a resultant reduction in the overall transverse dimension of the assembly. This assures very easy procedure of wiring harness mounting without the necessity of otherwise providing a large-diameter hole on the panel, attaining economy in respect of cost and man-hour required in the fabrication of necessary parts or actual mounting procedure.

Clip

A grommet for sealing the clearance between a panel (P) and an electric cord (W) extending therethrough, the grommet having a locking portion (B) made of a hard resin including a lower part (9) having a center hole (9a), and upper annular wall (10) extending along the peripheral edge of the lower part (9), a base plate (11) provided at the top of the annular wall (10) and having a center hole (11a), and engaging tongues (12) provided on the annular wall (10); a soft portion (A) including an annular recess (6) fitted with the base plate (11) and a tube through which the electric cord is inserted; and electric cord fastening members (17) having stoppers (18) dimensioned so as to be prevented from passing through the holes (9a, 11a) of the lower part (9) and the base plate (11), the fastening members being secured to the cord so that the stoppers are located between the lower part (9) and the base plate (11).

A grommet comprises a soft grommet body including a supporting portion arranged such that an electric wire insertion hole is formed in an inner peripheral portion of a hollow disc-like base, a peripheral wall is clookedly formed along an outer periphery thereof, and a tip portion thereof is further bent inwards. The grommet has a square pillar. The pillar having a substrate fitted in an annular recess defined by the substrate, the peripheral wall and the supporting portion. A plurality of angular portions are each fitted in a hole of a pannel. The grommet has a hard resinous lock member having stop members for providing a locking force in the hole. An inner periphery of the supporting portion assumes an angular configuration having a plurality of corners close to the plurality of angular portions.

Grommet structure

The clip for securing a wiring harness in position has a holder portion for holding the wiring harness and a flange portion extending transversely from the holder portion for securing the clip to a fixed part of the vehicle structure. The flange portion is pivotably connected to the holder portion so that the former, in assembly, can be collapsed in parallel to the latter from the normally erect position, reducing the overall dimension of the combined clip and harness to facilitate insertion of the combination through a panel hole of relatively smaller dimension. This reduces the assembly cost and improves the assembly efficiency. Another form of clip is provided at its flange portion with a flexibly bendable constrictive portion formed in the middle of the flange portion. The clip also can be bent via the constrictive portion, reducing its overall dimension, and attains the same effect as the first mentioned clip. The clip further is provided at its flange portion with reinforcement means of rigidity adapted to be abutted against and latched on the bendable constrictive portion. The reinforcement means of profile complemental to that of the bendable constrictive portion, serves to render the latter portion unbendable or rigid for attaining reliable positioning of the wiring harness relative to the fixed part. Any risks of the wiring harness or associated parts e.g. connectors being dislocated or displaced due to vibrations occuring in the vehicle thus can be avoided.

Clip for securing a wiring harness

A grommet comprises a soft grommet body, including a supporting portion, arranged such that an electric wire insertion hole is formed in an inner peripheral portion of a hollow disc-like base at one end of said soft grommet body, a peripheral wall is crookedly formed along an outer periphery of said hollow disc-like base, and a tip portion of said peripheral wall is further bent inwards to provide said supporting portion. The grommet has an angular pillar. The pillar has a substrate fitted in an annular recess defined by the substrate, the peripheral wall and the supporting portion. The pillar also has a plurality of angular portions each fitted in a hole of a panel. The grommet has a hard resinous lock member having stop members for providing a locking force in the hole. An inner periphery of the supporting portion assumes an angular configuration having a plurality of corners contiguous to the plurality of angular portions of the angular pillar.

A crimp-style terminal fixed to an electrical connection such as a bar of an electrical source together with the other terminal piled thereon with a screw includes first rotation preventing member for preventing a rotation of the crimp-style terminal about the electrical connection and second rotation preventing member for preventing a rotational movement of the other terminal about the crimp-style terminal when screwed. Said first rotation preventing member consists of a pair of first bent portions which are adapted to be engagement with the bar, and said second rotation preventing member consists of a pair of second bent portions bent to the opposite side to the first bent portions, which are adapted to regulate the rotational movement of the other terminal.

A connector comprising contacting terminals; terminal-containing chambers for accommodating the contacting terminals, each one of the terminal-containing chambers having a resilient connection arm which is provided within the chamber for resiliently securing the contacting terminal, the connection arm defining a space between the back surface of itself and the inner wall of the terminal-containing chambers; and a terminal having contacting-pieces and a spacer which are integrally constructed in parallel to each other and are extending in the same direction, the contacting-pieces being inserted into contact with the contacting terminals and the spacer into the space for fitting therein.
