A method and an apparatus (A,B,C,D,E) for axial centering of a rod-like article () or a group of rod-like articles wherein the rod-like article () or the group of rod-like articles is conveyed in a flute () situated on the circumference of a drum conveyor (), moreover, the rod-like article () or the group of rod-like articles in the successive flutes () have the same or varying length, with the apparatus (A,B,C,D,E) being provided with pusher elements () of a shifting mechanism axially acting on the rod-like article () or the group of rod-like articles so as to change the position of the rod-like article () or the groups of articles in the flute (), characterized in that the coupled pusher elements () make swinging movements having opposite senses, moreover, the pusher elements () have contact surfaces (A,A,A,A,A,A,A,A) adapted to axially act on the rod-like article () or the group of rod-like articles, the contact surfaces (A,A,A,A,A,A,A,A) of the pusher elements () being convergently positioned in the direction of movement (T) of the rod-like articles, at least one pusher element () being connected with a dynamic element () placing the pusher elements () in a position enabling them to axially act on the rod-like articles (L,R) or the groups of rod-like articles conveyed on the drum conveyor () so that the centers of the rod-like articles () or the groups of rod-like articles are positioned principally in a common plane (S, SL, SR).

The object of the application is a detachable cutting head for an apparatus for feeding filter segments provided with a drum conveyor having flutes for crosswise movement of filter rods, provided with circular knives situated in knife units mounted in the housing of the head, characterized in that it comprises a housing of the head () provided with a reference surface () for positioning in the apparatus for feeding filter segments; seatings () for positioning the knife units () and lead-out channels (), knife units () with circular knives (), whereas the positioning seatings () are situated so that the circular knives () do not overlap. Furthermore, the object of the application is a drive apparatus of a cutting head and a method of coupling a cutting head.

Device for transferring cylindrical segments from a hopper onto a grouping belt is provided with a guiding drum, having flutes on its periphery and a circumferentially closed conveyor which delivers segments to a rotary element with pushers. Conveyor with seats with a catching element for catching segments, and transferring the segments from the conveyor to the element is effected by means of a spiral drum. The device has a push-down element constituted by a cam with a groove of a height corresponding to the diameter of the segment. The catching element has the form of a depression in the body of the seat shaped as a half of a cylinder, corresponding to the diameter of the segment, with locks on edges, whereas the axis of the depression is perpendicular to the direction of motion of the conveyor.

Device for transferring filter segments in the process of manufacturing multi-segment filter rods

The object of the invention is a unit for conveying filter segments () for the machines of tobacco industry, comprising a chain conveyor () in a horizontal arrangement on which the lugs () are disposed, the working ends () of which are deflected from the vertical. The unit comprises guides () of the filter segments () provided with an inclined channel () guiding the lug ().

A method of making segmented filters including moving substantially identical segments of one type at uniform rate to a transferring element, which places each segment separately on an exit path. Setting of the filter segments in a repeating group on the exit path is accomplished by delay in collecting segments by a transferring element in each module of the apparatus. Uniform positioning is effected using the transferring element which includes uniformly spaced drivers, and non-uniform positioning is effected using the transferring element with non-uniformly spaced drivers. The apparatus includes a guiding element positioned adjacent to a cutting drum and has a wall closing a channel for a set of segments drawn out of a flute on the drum. The filter set is led through the channel with the aid of a dog of a chain and is advanced by a worm surface of a pushing together drum.

Method for compiling groups of filter segments when producing multi-segment filter assemblies

A stream of compressed air from nozzle directed towards the area between a shoe guide and separator helps separate and stabilize the filter segment.
