A method for preparing a sample for use in endotoxin test which comprises subjecting a sample of plasma or blood preparation to a contact with water-insoluble anti human .alpha..sub.2 -macroglobulin antibody and to a gel filtration by means of a gel of allyl dextran crosslinked with N,N'-methylenebis acrylamide or a gel of polyvinyl alcohol having many hydrophilic hydroxyl groups, and recovering the maximum molecular weight fraction. A kit for preparing a sample for use in the endotoxin test consisting of a set of a sample-developing column prepared by packing a water-insoluble anti-human .alpha..sub.2 -macroglobulin antibody and a gel of allyl dextran crosslinked with N,N'-methylenebis acrylamide or a gel of polyvinyl alcohol having many hydrophilic hydroxyl groups, both equilibrated with a buffer solution of pH 7.0-7.4, into a column and tightly sealing the column, an aqueous solution of a high molecular weight colored substance to be added to the sample and a buffer solution for use in developing the sample.

Kit for preparing sample for use in endotoxin test

(1) A method for preparing a sample for use in the endotoxin test which comprises subjecting a sample of plasma or blood preparation to a contact with water-insoluble anti-human .alpha..sub.2 -macroglobulin antibody and to a gel filtration by means of a gel of allyl dextran crosslinked with N,N'-methylenebis acrylamide or a gel of polyvinyl alcohol having many hydrophilic hydroxyl groups, and recovering the maximum molecular weight fraction. (2) A kit for preparing a sample for use in the endotoxin test consisting of a set of a sample-developing column prepared by packing a water-insoluble anti-human .alpha..sub.2 -macroglobulin antibody and a gel of allyl dextran crosslinked with N,N'-methylenebis acrylamide or a gel of polyvinyl alcohol having many hydrophilic hydroxyl groups, both equilibrated with a buffer solution of pH 7.0-7.4, into a column and tightly sealing the column, an aqueous solution of a high molecular colored substance to be added to the sample and a buffer solution for use in developing the sample.

Method for preparing sample for use in endotoxin test

A plasminogen preparation comprising a plasminogen-containing aqueous solution or of plasminogen dry powder each admixed with at least one of lysine, phenylmethanesulfonyl fluoride, aprotinin, and soybean trypsin inhibitor in an effective amount for stabilizing plasminogen.

Plasminogen preparations

Acetylsalicylates with basic amino acids such as DL-lysine is stabilized in the form of solid preparation by admixing anhydrous calcium chloride therewith. The preparation containing calcium chloride is prevented from hydrolysis and can be stored for a long period of time even at a relatively high room temperature. The preparation is further prevented from discarolation when glycine is added thereto.

Oxygen-transferable perfluorocarbon compounds having 9 to 11 carbon atoms such as perfluorodecalin, perfluoro(C.sub.3.sub.-5 -alkylcyclohexanes), perfluoro(C.sub.4.sub.-6 -alkyl tetrahydropyrans), perfluoro(C.sub.5.sub.-7 -alkyltetrahydrofurans), perfluoro(C.sub.5.sub.-7 -alkylmorpholins) and perfluoro(C.sub.9.sub.-11 -trialkylamines) are emulsified in a physiologically acceptable aqueous solution such as Ringer's solution by the aid of a phospholipid as emulsifier and a fatty acid of 8 to 22 carbon atoms, alkali metal salt or monoglyceride thereof as emulsifying adjuvant. The emulsion is stable for a considerable period of time and contains particles having a particle size ranging from 0.05 to 0.3 .mu.. It is usable as a blood substitute or a perfurate for preservation of the internal organs.

Process for preparing stable oxygen transferable emulsion

Oxygen-transferable perfluorocarbon compounds having 9 to 11 carbon atoms such as perfluorodecalin, perfluoro(C.sub.3-5 -alkylcyclohexanes), perfluoro(C.sub.4-6 -alkyl tetrahydropyrans), perfluoro(C.sub.5-7 -alkyltetrahydrofurans), perfluoro(C.sub.5-7 -alkylmorpholins) and perfluoro(C.sub.9-11 -trialkylamines) are emulsified in a physiologically acceptable aqueons solution such as Ringer's solution by the aid of a phospholipid as emulsifier and a fatty acid of 8 to 22 carbon atoms, alkali metal salt or monoglyceride thereof as emulsifying adjuvant. The emulsion is stable for a considerable period of time and contains particles having a particle size ranging from 0.05 to 0.3 .mu.. It is usable as a blood substitute or a perfusate for preservation of the internal organs.

Oxygen-transferable emulsion

An injectable fluorocarbon emulsion capable of carrying oxygen, which can be used as artificial blood and organ perfusate, is prepared by emulsifying a fluorocarbon, having an ability to dissolve at least 30 V/V % of oxygen under a 100% oxygen atmosphere at an atmospheric pressure, in an aqueous salt solution with a surfactant, centrifuging the resulting aqueous emulsion thereby to reduce the fluorocarbon particles in the emulsion in size to particle sizes of the order of about 0.05 to 0.25 .mu., and then sterilizing the thus obtained emulsion under rotation. The resulting fluorocarbon emulsion can be used as an emergency blood substitute for transfusion.
