A printer includes a main body casing, a supply portion, and a recessed portion. The main body casing has a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a third surface connecting the first and second surfaces. The main body casing can be placed on a flat surface with the first surface in contact with the flat surface. The supply portion and the recessed portion are provided at the first surface. Through the supply portion, a medium is supplied into the main body casing. The recessed portion is recessed toward the second surface a depth not less than the thickness of the medium. The recessed portion extends from the third surface to the supply portion in a first direction and extends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The length of the recessed portion in the second direction is greater than the width of the medium.

A printing device includes: a platen unit; and a main body unit. The platen unit includes a platen roller configured to convey a printing medium. The main body unit includes: a printing head; and an attachment-detachment portion which the platen unit is attachable to and detachable from. The printing head is configured to nip the printing medium in cooperation with the platen roller to perform printing on the printing medium. When the platen unit is attached to the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are assembled as a single unit. When the platen unit is detached from the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are separated as separate units.

A print medium feeding device removes a second sheet from a print medium that is in a state in which a first sheet, the second sheet, a the third sheet are superposed, superposes the first sheet and the third sheet, and feeds the first sheet and the third sheet to a printing device. The disclosure discloses a cutting apparatus including a movable blade and a guide device. The movable blade is configured to move along a sliding direction to a cutting position. The guide device includes an upper guide part including a contact part and a lower guide part including at least one guide surface. The contact part is disposed at a position separated from a first blade edge of the fixed blade by a first distance in the transport direction and by a second distance in an upper direction. The at least one guide surface that inclines in an inclination direction in which the at least one guide surface inclines downward at a predetermined angle toward a downstream in the transport direction and is disposed to have an interval of a third distance against the contact part in a direction orthogonal to the inclination direction.

Cutting apparatus and printer

The disclosure discloses a cutting apparatus including a feeder, a fixed blade, a movable blade, and at least one scraping-off device. The movable blade is configured to slide in a sliding direction crossing a transport direction against the fixed blade and is configured to move along the sliding direction from a standby position on one side to a cutting position on the other side and to cut the print-receiving medium fed by the feeder. The at least one scraping-off device is disposed in proximity to the movable blade and is configured to come into contact from the other side with an adhesive that has adhered to the movable blade and scrape off the adhesive when the movable blade moves from the standby position on the one side to the cutting position on the other side.

A position indicator includes a cylindrical case, a signal output device, a core body portion, an urging device, a substrate, a plurality of flat springs, and a conduction member. The signal output device is in the case and outputs a detection signal to a position detection device. The core body portion is provided to be freely movable inside the case along an axial direction. The urging device urges the core body portion toward one end side of the case. The substrate includes a circuit connected to the signal output device, and extends in a direction parallel with the axial direction. The flat springs have elasticity in the axial direction, protrude from the substrate toward the core body portion while making contact with the end surface. The conduction member causes the flat springs to become conductive to each other by moving to a position of contact with the flat springs.

Position indicator

A battery storage structure includes a battery storage portion, a battery terminal, a separate member, and an overhang portion. The battery storage portion includes a bottom surface portion and peripheral wall portion extending from the perimeter of the bottom surface portion in a direction that intersects with the bottom surface portion and forms a first opening. The battery terminal has a contact portion and is supported by the peripheral wall portion. The separate member is formed as a separate body from the battery storage portion. The overhang portion is provided on the separate member, is positioned on a first direction side with respect to the contact portion, and protrudes toward an inner side of the peripheral wall portion in a second direction. The first direction is a direction from the bottom surface portion toward the first opening. The second direction is a direction that intersects the first direction.

A tape printer includes a guide portion guiding a label and having a first and a second guide portion. The first guide portion is arranged on a first end portion side with respect to a central line in a width direction of a feed path such that the portion does not include the central line in the width direction. The second guide portion is arranged on a second end portion side in the width direction such that the portion includes the central line. When a connecting portion connecting the first and the second guide portion is taken as a reference, the first guide portion is formed such that a height of the first guide portion substantially increases toward the first end portion side in the width direction. The second guide portion is formed such that a height of the second guide portion is substantially uniform in the width direction.

A first movable portion has a cutting blade and configured to move between a first retracted position and a first cutting position. A first operating portion is a movable body configured to move in conjunction with a rotation drive portion. The first operating portion is configured to cause the first movable portion to move toward the first cutting position, and to cause the first movable portion to move toward the first retracted position. A drive stopping portion is configured to stop the rotation of the rotation drive portion, when the first movable portion reaches the first cutting position. A position holding portion is configured to hold a position of the first operating portion, when the first movable portion reaches the first cutting position.

A substrate mounting structure includes a substrate, a substrate support portion, a protruding portion, and a screw. The substrate has a first surface and a second surface that is a surface on an opposite side to the first surface. The substrate support portion includes a screw hole and is a section of an outer peripheral portion of the screw hole. The section comes into contact with the first surface of the substrate. The protruding portion is provided on at least a part of a section of the outer peripheral portion apart from the substrate support portion, and protrudes further in a direction from the first surface toward the second surface than the substrate support portion. The screw is screwed into the screw hole and clamps the substrate together with the substrate support portion.

A tape printer includes a cassette mounting portion, a cutting mechanism, a discharge outlet, a guide surface, a first projecting portion, and a second projecting portion. The cutting mechanism is a hinged type of cutting mechanism, and the hinge of the cutting mechanism is positioned in a side of the tape in a width direction. The guide surface guides the label toward the discharge outlet. The first projecting portion is provided in an area covered by a first projected image that is an image of a minimum width tape projected onto the guide surface, being projected in a position to which the minimum width tape has been conveyed toward the discharge outlet by a minimum length of the label. The second projecting portion is provided within the guide surface to the outside of the first projected image and on the opposite side of the first projected image from the hinge.
