First display ( ) comprising a liquid crystal display is provided on the external surface of the first case body ( ). In the near proximity of the first display ( ), a non-voice radio communications service start button ( ), scroll buttons ( ), ( ), and a selection/decision button ( ) are provided. On the internal surface of the first case body ( ), the second display , on the side of which is provided an antenna retractable slantwise, is provided. In the first case body ( ) is embedded a magnet ( ) and in the second case body ( ) is embedded a lead switch ( ). When the main unit is folded to bring the magnet ( ) in close proximity to the lead switch ( ), the lead switch is turned ON. When the main unit is unfolded to place the magnet ( ) apart from the lead switch ( ), the lead switch is turned OFF. This allows detection of folding/unfolding of the case body.

Folding portable telephone apparatus

A first display ( ) comprising a liquid crystal display is provided on the outer surface of a first case body ( ). In the near proximity of the first display ( ), a call start button ( ), a call release button ( ), and a so-called navigation key ( ) having an arrow key for scrolling in four directions and a center key for selecting and determining target information. There is provided a battery pack with a water leakage detecting seal comprising a protective circuit 5 for protecting a battery, a first case 6, a second case 7, and a battery cell 8, characterized in that the water leakage detecting seal 2 is arranged adjacent to the protective circuit 5 for protecting the battery in the rear of a window 3 formed in the first case 6 in such a way that the water leakage detecting seal 2 is sandwiched between the first case 6 and the second case 7.
