There is provided a copper alloy consisting of: Ni: 10 to 15% by weight, Sn: 5.0% by weight or more, Mn: 0 to 0.5% by weight, Zr: 0 to 0.5% by weight, at least one selected from the group consisting of Nb, Fe, Al, Ti, B, Zn, Si, Co, P, Mg, and Bi: 0 to 0.2% by weight in total, and the balance being Cu and inevitable impurities. The copper alloy has, in an X-ray diffraction profile, (i) a peak in the vicinity of 2θ=46 to 50° having a peak intensity of 30% or more with respect to a peak intensity in the vicinity of 2θ=84 to 88° and (ii) a peak in the vicinity of 2θ=40 to 42° having a peak intensity of 2.0% or more with respect to a peak intensity in the vicinity of 2θ=84 to 88°.

A heat treatment method according to the present invention includes a preliminary-state-generating step of heat-treating an alloy that undergoes multiple-step transformation with temperature by bringing the alloy in contact with a contact-type heating element for 0.01 sec or more and 3.0 sec or less, the contact-type heating element being adjusted to a particular temperature within a preliminary-state-generating temperature region determined on the basis of a first temperature related to a particular first transformation of the alloy and a second temperature, which is higher than the first temperature, related to a particular second transformation of the alloy so as to generate a preliminary state in the alloy.

Heat treatment method and heat treatment apparatus

A continuous repetitive method of rolling a series combination of asymmetric rolling and skin pass rolling operations is provided. Differential-speed rolling is performed as the asymmetric rolling, and a winder temporarily winds a metal strip with a collapsed plate shape by traverse winding (loose winding which allows the metal strip to be wound in a zigzag manner). Then, the skin pass rolling is performed, and orderly winding is performed in a coil form. In the flow of rolling, tandem rolling may be performed by arranging two or more rolling mills side by side so that the asymmetric rolling and the skin pass rolling operations are continuously performed without the traverse winding therebetween.
