The second acquisition processing portion acquires a state value regarding the state of a surface layer of the image-carrying member based on the potential value of the charged area acquired by the first acquisition processing portion and the current value of a charging current flowing through the charging member during formation of the charged area. The third acquisition processing portion acquires the electrical resistance value of the transfer member based on the state value acquired by the second acquisition processing portion, the voltage value of a transfer voltage applied to the transfer member, and the current value of a transfer current flowing through the charged area in response to application of the transfer voltage.

An image forming apparatus includes a developing member, a first detection processing portion, and an acquisition processing portion. The developing member conveys developer to a facing portion between the developing member and the image-carrying member. The first detection processing portion detects a first development current for each of a plurality of specific voltages with different DC voltage values applied to the developing member, the first development current flowing, in response to application of the specific voltages, through the facing portion including the developer and a specific exposed area, formed by the light emitting portion, on the image-carrying member. The acquisition processing portion acquires a potential value of the specific exposed area based on the DC voltage values of the specific voltages and current values of the first development current, detected by the first detection processing portion, corresponding to the respective specific voltages.

An image forming apparatus includes a feeder, a conveyance section, an image forming section, a light emitter, a light receiver, a measuring section, and a permeation depth calculator. The feeder feeds a sheet. The conveyance section conveys the sheet. The image forming section forms an image on the sheet conveyed by the conveyance section using an ink. The light emitter emits near-infrared light to the sheet with the image thereon. The light receiver receives reflected light of the near-infrared light. The reflected light has been reflected by the sheet with the image thereon. The measuring section measures a received light quantity of the reflected light. The permeation depth calculator calculates a permeation depth of the ink permeating the sheet based on the received light quantity.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a recording head, a controller, a first detector, and a second detector. The controller calculates a viscosity of ink in each of nozzles based on a temperature, a humidity, and an elapsed time. The controller determines, among the nozzles, a nozzle in which the viscosity is equal to or higher than a threshold to be a high-viscosity nozzle. The controller acquires non-ejection information indicating an ejection disabled nozzle that is disabled to eject the ink. The controller acquires a viscosity of the ink in the ejection disabled nozzle. The controller calculates an average value of viscosities of the ink in the plurality of nozzles. The controller compares the viscosity of the ink in the ejection disabled nozzle with the average value of the viscosities of the ink in the nozzles. The controller determines whether or not to change a contribution value based on a comparison result.

A first light emitter emits light toward a sheet. A first light receiver receives first reflected light from the sheet. A second light emitter is arranged downstream of the first light emitter in a conveyance direction of the sheet and emits light toward the sheet. A second light receiver receives second reflected light from the sheet. A measuring section measures first and second received light quantities of the first reflected light and the second reflected light. A moisture content calculator calculates a change in a moisture content of the ink in the sheet based on a difference between first and second moisture contents. The first moisture content is based on the first received light quantity and the second moisture content is based on the second received light quantity. A curling amount calculator calculates a curling amount of the sheet based on the change in the moisture content.
