A seat back frame includes: a base frame; a movable frame supported for movement in a frontward-rearward direction with respect to the base frame; and a biasing member biasing the movable frame frontwardly and permitting a rearward movement of the movable frame in response to a load having a given value or more. The base frame has an upper frame section supporting a headrest, and two side frame sections extending in an upward-downward direction on laterally opposite sides of the upper frame section. The movable frame has a back-receiving section located between the side frame sections, and two side support sections on laterally opposite sides of the back-receiving section to project forward from the side frame sections. Front ends of the side support sections are disposed to stop a rear surface of the pad that receives a rearward load from a back of an occupant.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat which comprises a back frame () provided inside a seat back () to support a headrest (). The back frame () includes right and left side frames (), and a plurality of support spring members (B,C) having opposite right and left ends () locked between the right and left side frames () and extending in a right-left direction to support a lumber region of an occupant. Each of the support spring members (B,C) is shaped such that a central region thereof protrudes frontwardly relative to the right and left ends thereof in an approximately flat state. Thus, the central region of the support spring unit is largely bent (depressed) rearwardly when a rearward load is applied thereto during a rear impact event.

A lumbar support plate which is supported movably in a front/rear direction in a back frame that supports a headrest, and a biasing member which supports the lumbar support plate, are provided. A clutch mechanism which enables an output member to rotate by a rotating operation of a handle shaft, and an adjustment member which is capable of adjusting the front/rear position of the lumbar support plate in relation with an output member of the clutch mechanism are also provided. Also provided is a linking release mechanism which temporarily releases linkage with the clutch mechanism and permits rearward movement of the lumbar support plate, when a load equal to or greater than a prescribed value is applied to the lumbar support plate.

Seat back structure with lumbar support for vehicle

A vehicle seat has a back frame, an elastic member interconnecting side supports of the back frame, a movable member on the elastic member, and a restriction on the back frame. The movable member and the restriction engage each other in a first mode when a rearward load on the elastic member is less than a given value and are released from one another in a second mode when the load on the elastic member equals or exceeds the given value. The restriction restricts a rearward movement of the movable member in the first mode to limit rearward bending of the elastic member. Rearward movement of the movable member is permitted in the second mode to release the limitation on bending of the elastic member. Thus, the vehicle seat protects an occupant's neck during a rear collision.

A vehicle seat lifter includes front and rear links with upper ends pivoted to a side frame of the seat and lower ends pivoted to front and rear floor brackets. A front hitting segment is in a front portion of the side frame spaced from a front catch in the front bracket, and a rear hitting segment is in a rear portion of the side frame spaced from a rear catch in the rear bracket. The front hitting segment is stopped by the front catch when the side frame is displaced frontward along with a deformation of the front and rear links due to forces during a frontal collision. The rear hitting segment is stopped by the rear catch when the side frame is displaced rearward along with a deformation of the front and rear links due to forces during a rear collision.

Lifter device for vehicle seat

A seat structure capable of dealing with both a normal posture and a resting posture and providing sufficient relaxation in the resting posture while ensuring excellent comfortableness of an occupant. According to the present invention, a back frameitself is fixed to a frame supportbut a cushion frameshifts from a first position A to a second position B according to an occupant's movement and an inclination angle of a pelvis supportincreases accordingly. The occupant's pelvis portion and a portion lower than the pelvis portion is moved forward but a part of his or her back above his or her breast is not varied. With this structure, the same effect of the resting posture, that is, the posture in which the back frame is reclined in a conventional seat structure, can be obtained. Since the back is not tilted backward, a leg room (footrest) space in a rear seat is not limited.
