A power tool includes a brush holder with a brush positioned more accurately with respect to a commutator. A grinder as a power tool includes a housing, a stator fixed to the housing, a rotor rotatable relative to the stator and including a commutator and a coil, a brush that comes in contact with the commutator, a brush-holding metal plate having a screw hole and holding the brush, and a screw extending through the screw hole and directly fastened to the housing.

A covering member made of a resin is integrally molded with a sensor substrate of a brushless motor in a circular saw by low-temperature, low-pressure injection molding. The covering member covers rotation detecting elements, a thermistor, resistors, and connecting portions (terminals) of lead wires that serve as electrically conductive portions conducting electric currents.

Electric power tool and method for manufacturing the same

In an electric power tool which houses a motor and a controller for controlling drive of the motor, the controller has a circuit board on which electric components are mounted and a heat radiation member which radiates heat of the electric components. The heat radiation member has a facing part which faces the circuit board in parallel to a board surface of the circuit board. The facing part is provided with steps by which a distance between the facing part and the board surface of the circuit board varies. Furthermore, the facing part of the heat radiation member is provided with a first facing part in which a relative distance with respect to the board surface of the circuit board is reduced.
