There is demand for a power storage device composition that: compared to past lithium compounds, can suppress development of conductivity caused by blue discoloration (reduction), even when used in a reducing atmosphere; and can inhibit the generation of gases, such as carbon dioxide gas, hydrogen gas, and fluoride gas, that has been a problem in past power storage devices during use and with aging. The conductive auxiliary liquid includes a high boiling point organic solvent having a boiling point of 150&#xb0; C. or more, and an aromatic compound having at least one hydroxyl group. The aromatic compounds preferably includes an aromatic compound having at least one carboxyl group or an aromatic compound having at least one nitro group, or a combination of an aromatic compound having at least one carboxyl group with an aromatic compound having at least one nitro group.

There is provided a method to provide a capacitor element including a porous body of a valve metal, and a dielectric layer of an oxide layer of the valve metal. The method includes a first sequential process, and a second sequential process. The first sequential process includes: immersing the capacitor element in a first liquid of dispersion of a conductive polymer obtained by means of oxidation polymerization of thiophene or its derivative in the presence of a dopant of a polymer anion; taking out the capacitor element from the first liquid; and drying the capacitor element. Subsequent second sequential process includes: immersing the capacitor element in a second liquid which dissolves a cyclic organic compound having at least one hydroxyl group; taking out the capacitor element from the second liquid; and drying the capacitor element.

Method for manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitor

There is provided a conductive polymer having a high electrical conductivity and an excellent heat resistance. Using it as a solid electrolyte, there is provided a solid electrolyte capacitor having a low ESR and a large capacitance with good reliability under a hot condition. A monomer mixture of 2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin and 2-alkyl-2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin at a mixture ratio of 0.05:1 to 1:0.1 by the molar ratio is polymerized in the presence of an organic sulfonic acid, and the organic sulfonic acid is included as a dopant. As the 2-alkyl-2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin, the alkyl portion can be methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl.

Conductive polymer and a solid electrolytic capacitor using the same as a solid electrolyte

The present invention provides a solid electrolytic capacitor having a low ESR, excellent heat resistance, and reliability used under a high temperature condition. On the dielectric layer of the capacitor element, 2-alkyl-2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine monomer is subject to oxidation polymerization to provide a first conductive polymer layer. Then, 2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine or a monomer mixture of 2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine and 2-alkyl-2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine is subject to oxidation polymerization to provide a second conductive polymer layer. The formation of the first conductive polymer layer and the second conductive polymer layer is alternatively repeated. The first conductive polymer and the second conductive polymer serve as a solid electrolyte to provide a solid electrolytic.

There is provided an oxidant and dopant which can produce a conductive polymer. The conductive polymer can be used in a solid electrolyte capacitor as solid electrolyte. The solid electrolyte capacitor can be provided with improved breakdown voltage and voltage resistance, as well as less generation of the defects due to leak current. There is provided an oxidant and dopant solution for conductive polymer production including an oxidant and dopant for an organic ferric sulfonate, and an alcohol with a carbon number of 1 to 4. The oxidant and dopant solution further includes a compound with a glycidyl group, or its ring-opened compound. Faborably, a polyalcohol is further added. Using the oxidant and dopant solution, a thiophene or its derivative is subject to an oxidation polymerization to prepare a conductive polymer, which can be used as solid electrolyte of a solid electrolyte capacitor.

The conductive polymer of the present invention is prepared by means of oxidation polymerization. On the matrix of the conductive polymer, at least one organic sulfonate formed by an anion of an organic sulfonic acid and a cation of other than transition metals is coated. Alternatively, in the matrix of the conductive polymer, at least one organic sulfonate formed by an anion of an organic sulfonic acid and a cation of other than transition metals is included. The conductive polymer of the present invention is excellent in the conductivity, heat resistance and moisture resistance. By using it as a solid electrolyte, a reliable solid electrolytic capacitor can be prepared which is unlikely to decrease the properties when being kept in a hot and humid condition.
