A battery electric vehicle includes a battery, an inverter having three arm circuits, a motor having three coils connected to a neutral point and three arm circuits, a relay, a ground wire, and a controller. The controller can selectively perform a normal charging operation and a heat generation charging operation. In normal charging operation, equal current flows in all three coils in the positive direction from the neutral point to the arm circuit. In the heat generation charging operation, a first current flows in the positive direction in at least one of the three coils, and a second current flows in the opposite direction from the arm circuit toward the neutral point in the other coils. The total value of the first currents is greater than the total value of the second currents.

Battery electric vehicle

A fuel cell system has a first boost converter of a fuel cell, a second boost converter of a secondary battery, and a control unit. Output sides of the first boost converter and the second boost converter are connected so as to be the same potential. The control unit is configured to, when detecting failure of the second boost converter, cause input and output sides of the second boost converter to conduct, estimate an open circuit voltage of the secondary battery based on a state of charge, and execute electric power consumption by an accessory that operates by electric power supplied from the fuel cell when determining that the first boost converter is not able to boost the output voltage of the fuel cell to the open circuit voltage, and stops the electric power consumption by the accessory when determining that the first boost converter is able to boost.

Fuel cell system, non-transitory storage medium and control method for fuel cell system

A fuel cell system installed in a vehicle includes: a fuel cell; a secondary battery; a load including a drive motor and an air compressor; a fuel cell converter; a secondary battery converter; a failure detection unit; a first state determination unit; a reverse rotation detection unit; and a control unit. The control unit performs a limp-home traveling control that supplies electric power from the secondary battery to the drive motor when the secondary battery converter fails. When the vehicle is not in the first state, the control unit prohibits regeneration of the drive motor. When the vehicle is in the first state, the control unit supplies a reaction current to the air compressor. When the reaction current is applied and a reverse rotation of the air compressor is detected, the control unit does not apply the reaction current thereafter.

A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell, an anode gas supply system, an anode gas circulatory system, a cathode gas supply-discharge system, a gas-liquid discharge passage, a gas-liquid discharge valve configured to open and close the gas-liquid discharge passage, a flow-rate acquisition portion, and a controlling portion. A technique that suppresses excessive water drainage from a fuel cell is provided. A water drainage device that drains water from inside of a fuel cell includes: a purge gas supply system; an operation unit; a water drainage controller; and a water content acquirer. The operation unit receives a water drainage command from a water drainage switch configured to control execution of a purge process by the purge gas supply system. When the water content obtained by the water content acquirer is equal to or lower than a predetermined value, the water drainage controller performs either one of: (i) invalidating the received water drainage command; and (ii) changing a processing condition of the purge process to decrease an amount of water drained by the purge process, compared with an amount of water drainage when the obtained water content is higher than the predetermined value.

When an overvoltage is generated in one converter and an overvoltage is not generated in another converter, the whole system continues to operate using a power source connected to the other converter. The controller stops the secondary battery step-up converter when a short-circuit fault of the diode is detected, disconnects the relay when a voltage of the fuel cell is higher than a voltage of the secondary battery after stopping the secondary battery step-up converter, and when the voltage of the secondary battery is higher than or equal to the voltage of the fuel cell, executes a voltage control process which increases the voltage of the fuel cell relative to the voltage of the secondary battery, and disconnects the relay.
