A motorcycle tire comprises a tread portion having a first tread edge, a second tread edge and a ground contacting surface. A minimum distance in a tire axial direction along the ground contact surface between the vertical groove portion and an outer edge of the central region is 30% or less of a maximum width in the tire axial direction of the central region along the ground contact surface.
