Provided is a superconducting cable capable of maintaining a predetermined thermal insulation property without having a vacuum thermal insulation structure. The superconducting cable of the present invention includes: a cable unit, in which a core having a superconductor layer and an electrical insulation layer is housed in a core-housing pipe; a thermal insulation memberwhich is provided outside the cable unit and maintained in a non-vacuum state; and a sealing member for preventing the permeation of moisture into the thermal insulation member. By equipping the outside of the cable unit with the thermal insulation memberwhich is maintained in a non-vacuum state, it is made possible to maintain the predetermined thermal insulation property without having a vacuum thermal insulation structure.

Superconducting cable

The invention offers a submarine solid cable that can suppress the movement of the insulating oil when the cable is used and the production method thereof. The method of producing a submarine solid cable forms an insulating layer by lapping insulating tapes, each of which includes a resin film, over the outer circumference of a conductor and impregnates the insulating layer with medium-viscosity insulating oil. The insulating layer is formed by lapping insulating tapes, each of which includes a resin film, over the outer circumference of the conductor. The insulating layer is impregnated with an insulating oil having an at least medium viscosity. The resin film is swelled to narrow an impregnation path impregnated with the insulating oil. According to the production method, the impregnation path for the insulating oil is secured when the impregnation with the insulating oil is performed and the impregnation path is narrowed to suppress the movement of insulating oil when the cable is used. Thus, the cable can have excellent insulation properties.

Method of producing submarine solid cable and submarine solid cable

A superconductive cable capable of promoting a heat insulating function by a heat insulating tube. A heat insulating tube contained within a cable core of a superconductive cable includes a first metal tube and a second metal tube and a third metal tube arranged from an inner side in a diameter direction. An inner side heat insulating portion is formed between the first metal tube and the second metal tube, and an outer side heat insulating portion is formed on an inner side of the third metal tube and on an outer side of the inner side heat insulating portion. A heat insulating function of the heat insulating portion on an outer side is set to be lower than a heat insulating function of the heat insulating portion on an inner side thereof.

Superconductive cable

A superconducting cable enables the cooling of the superconducting conductor with high efficiency and has a sufficient insulating strength. A method of controlling the temperature of the coolants used in the cable is offered. The superconducting cable comprises a heat-insulated pipe that houses a cable core provided with a superconducting conductor made of a superconducting material. The cable core is also provided with a poorly heat-conductive pipe placed at the outer side of the outer circumference of the superconducting conductor. The inside and outside of the poorly heat-conductive pipe are separately filled with different types of coolants having different purposes. The poorly heat-conductive pipe is filled with a conductor-use coolant for cooling the superconducting conductor so as to maintain it at the superconducting state. The heat-insulated pipe is filled with an insulation-use coolant for performing electric insulation of the superconducting conductor.

In a DC power transmission and distribution line, a power cable line for making it possible to easily supply power to various electric power machines used for operation of the line is provided. A power cable line includes a power cable () for executing DC transmission and distribution, an AC superposing sectionfor superposing an AC component on the power cable, and a branch power supply sectionfor taking out power induced by the superposed AC component from the cable. The AC component is superposed on the power cable by the AC superposing sectionand AC power together with DC power is transmitted to the power cable. The superposed AC component is taken out by the branch power supply sectionprovided in a midway point of the cable and is supplied to various electric power machines.

Power cable line

A method of manufacturing an oxide superconducting wire which can manufacture the longest possible wire by connecting relatively short wires with each other and is capable of suppressing reduction of a critical current resulting from influence by strain when the wires connected with each other are bent, an oxide superconducting wire, a superconducting coil and a superconducting apparatus are provided. According to the method of manufacturing an oxide superconducting wire by superposing end portions of two oxide superconducting wires with each other thereby bonding the end portions and connecting the oxide superconducting wires with each other, a junction formed by superposing the end portions with each other is so worked as to reduce the quantity of strain on an end of the junction when the two oxide superconducting wires and connected with each other are bent. Each of the oxide superconducting wire, the superconducting coil and the superconducting apparatus has the aforementioned junction, and the quantity of strain on the end of the junction is reduced in the aforementioned manner.

Method of manufacturing oxide superconducting wire, oxide superconducting wire, superconducting coil and superconducting apparatus

The method of preparing an oxide superconducting wire comprises steps of preparing a wire by coating raw material powder for a Bi&mdash;Pb&mdash;Sr&mdash;Ca&mdash;Cu&mdash;O based oxide superconductor including a 2223 phase with a metal and heat treating the wire in a pressurized atmosphere containing oxygen in a prescribed partial pressure, and the total pressure of the pressurized atmosphere is at least 0.5 MPa. The pressure heat treatment apparatus comprises a pressure furnace storing and heat treating a target in a pressurized atmosphere, a pressure regulator for measuring the total pressure in the pressure furnace, an oxygen concentration meter for measuring the oxygen concentration in the pressure furnace and a controller for controlling the oxygen partial pressure in the pressure furnace in response to the total pressure measured by the pressure regulator and the oxygen concentration measured by the oxygen concentration meter.

A cable and cable system is provided having a conductor and an insulation layer on an outer circumference of a conductor. The insulation layer is impregnated with a medium-viscosity insulating oil that has a viscosity of 10 centistokes (cst) to less than 500 cst at 60&deg; C. The insulation layer includes an insulating tape that may be one or a combination of composite tape having a polyolefin resin film laminated with a kraft paper on both its sides and an insulating tape including a polyolefin resin film. The cable includes a metal sheath provided on an outer circumference of the insulation layer, and a reinforcing layer formed on an outer circumference of the metal sheath. The reinforcing layer reinforces the metal sheath by absorbing hoop stress exerted on the metal sheath. The cable system includes a submarine-portion cable and a land-portion cable, an oil stop joint box, and an oil feeding tank. The oil stop joint box connects the submarine-portion cable to the land-portion cable, and the oil feeding tank is connected to the land-portion cable which feeds the medium-viscosity insulating oil to the land-portion cable.

The underground-laying depth of an electric power cable is obtained on the basis of temperature data of the electric power cable laid underground, ambient temperature data of a place where the electric power cable is laid underground, calorific power data of the electric power cable, thermal resistivity of soil where the electric power cable is laid underground, and radiation thermal resistivity of the surface of the electric power cable. The ambient temperature means the temperature of a place which is not influenced by the heat of the electric power cable.

Disclosed is an electrical insulating laminated paper prepared by a process which comprises the steps of melt-extruding a polyolefin resin as a binder onto one or two sheets of a kraft insulating paper by means of a extruder to obtain a laminated paper, and calendering or supercalendering the laminated paper so that the total thickness thereof is from 30 to 200 &mgr;m and the proportion of a polymer comprising the polyolefin resin is from 40 to 90%. The laminated paper is excellent in dielectric properties, dielectric strength, and mechanical properties such as adhesive strength.

A solid DC cable is made of a conductor having multilayered insulating layer around the outer circumference of the conductor. The insulating layer has a layering configuration selected from one of the following arrangements: (i) a main insulating layer and a low resistance tape layer, where the low-resistance tape layer contains carbon paper that has a volume resistivity which is smaller than that of the main insulating layer; (ii) a main insulating layer containing kraft paper, and a low-resistance insulating layer containing a low resistance kraft paper having a resistivity smaller than the kraft paper of the main insulating layer; (iii) a main insulating layer containing a composite tape, where the tape is contains a laminate of a low-loss plastic film and kraft paper, and a low-resistance insulating layer containing kraft paper having a resistivity lower than the main insulating layer; or (iv) a low-resistance tape layer containing carbon paper described in (i), a low-resistance insulating layer containing the low-resistance kraft paper described in (ii) and a main insulating layer. The low-resistance insulating layer or the low-resistance tape layer is positioned above the conductor in a region where the pressure of the insulating oil becomes negative when a voltage load is cut off.

Solid DC cable

An apparatus for connecting metal tubes covering optical fiber cables includes at least two clamp units 10, 10' for holding a metal sleeve (C5) and two metal tubes (C2, C2') covering two optical fiber cables (C, C') in close position. A laser welding head is placed between two adjacent clamp units. Each clamp unit has a gear (22) as a rotation body to be driven by a drive gear, a clamp device (28, 33, 34) for clamping the metal tube covered optical fiber cables which are introduced in inserting holes (31) where the metal tube covered optical fiber cables are inserted. The clamp device is supported by the rotation body (22) so as to be movable together with the rotation body. The rotation body and the clamp device each are provided with a radially extending selectively open or blocked extraction path (36, 22') to remove, in a radial direction, the metal tube optical fiber cable which has been connected by the apparatus.
