An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, an ink tank, a supply flow path, a supply pump located in the supply flow path, a collection flow path, a relief flow path connecting a first position in the supply flow path to a second position in the supply flow path, wherein the first position is located at a downstream side of the supply pump in the supply flow path and the second position located at an upstream side of the supply pump in the supply flow path, and a differential pressure regulating valve located in the relief flow path and configured to, in a case where the pressure of the pumped ink in the supply flow path is larger than a predetermined value, open the relief flow path so as to allow ink in the supply flow path to flow from the first position to the second position.

An inkjet printing apparatus includes: a print head provided with an ejection opening surface; a tank; a supply flow path; a collection flow path; an intra-tank vacuum pump to reduce pressure inside the tank; and a control unit. The control unit performs a first operation and a second operation, the first operation causing the intra-tank vacuum pump to operate while a collection drive valve is closed, so as to pull out ink in a flow path which extends from the ejection opening to the supply flow path into the tank, the second operation causing the intra-tank vacuum pump to operate while a supply drive valve is closed, so as to pull out ink in a flow path which extends from the ejection opening to the collection flow path into the tank.

A liquid ejection apparatus capable of detecting ink leakage early is provided. For this purpose, an ink leakage detection pin and a wall capable of storing leaked ink are provided at a joint part which is the part connecting the print head and the ink supply unit.

The tank is disposed higher than the print head in a vertical direction, and a one-way valve is provided between the buffer chamber and the tank in the collection flow path.

The present invention provides a mechanism that improves accuracy for positioning a head relative to a carriage, and easily performs positional adjustment for the head. A carriage unit includes a first carriage structure and a second carriage structure. The first carriage structure includes a first sliding face that can slide along a guide shaft, and a head can be mounted on the first carriage structure. The second carriage structure includes a second sliding face that can slide along the guide shaft, and can hold the first carriage structure to allow positional adjustment for the first carriage structure in a predetermined direction in which a position where the first sliding face contacts the guide shaft is to be shifted.
