A storage device including a first memory that stores a plurality of pieces of data a second memory that stores first state information indicating a state of update of the plurality of pieces of data, and a processor coupled to the first memory and the second memory and the processor configured to receive a update request for the plurality of pieces of data stored in the first memory, update a part of the plurality of pieces of data corresponding to the update request in response to an update of a second storage device coupled to the storage device, and update the first state information in response to the update of the plurality of pieces of data.

System and device for synchronizing data in a plurality of devices

While in active state, a first storage apparatus including first and second storage areas copies data stored in the first storage area to the second storage area, copies data stored in the first storage area to a third storage area so that data is synchronized between the first and third storage areas, and copies data stored in the second storage area to a fourth storage area so that data is synchronized between the second and fourth storage areas. When a second storage apparatus including the third and fourth storage areas has transitioned from standby to active state and thereby gets to receive access to the third storage area, instead of to the first storage area, from an external information processing apparatus, the second storage apparatus copies data stored in the third storage area to the fourth storage area, based on setting information stored in a storage unit.

There is provided an information processing apparatus including a control unit. The control unit adds type information indicating a first type in a first operation request in which operation target storage devices are specified by unique identifiers, respectively, used in a first storage apparatus and outputs the first operation request to the first storage apparatus through the network. When the control unit transmits the first operation request to a second storage apparatus and receives an error response indicating a type error from the second storage apparatus after transparent failover is executed, the control unit adds type information indicating the second type in a second operation request in which operation target storage devices are specified by unique identifiers, respectively, used in the second storage apparatus and outputs the second operation request to the second storage apparatus through the network.
