An LED lamp device includes a plurality of LED elements separately mounted on a substrate and effective to emit light having a first wavelength. A fluorescent element includes a fluorescent material excitable by light emitted from the LED elements to emit light of a second wavelength, and is arranged to cover each LED element with no gaps provided between the fluorescent element and the substrate. The fluorescent element is shaped in accordance with the positioning of the LED elements and the spaces defined there-between such that a proportion of light of the first wavelength with respect to light of the second wavelength is substantially uniform irrespective of light exit direction.

Provided is lead frame in which a wiring pattern supported by a support piece inside of a one-pitch outer frame section comprises a plurality of base units, each of which comprises a die pad on which a solid-state light emitting element is mounted, a heat sink extending from die pad so as to surround die pad electrically connected to one electrode of the element, and a lead electrically connected to the other electrode of the element. Lead of one base unit among adjacent base units and heat sink of the other base unit are coupled and electrically connected in series. Increase in temperature of the element is inhibited, light output is increased, and cost of a light emitting unit in which a plurality of solid-state light emitting elements connected in series are used is reduced. Also provided are wiring board, light emitting unit, and illuminating apparatus.

A lighting device is provided in accordance with the present invention having reduced luminance and color unevenness. A plurality of solid-state light emitting elements are mounted on a base substrate. An optical member is further mounted on the substrate and arranged so as to cover light emitting surfaces of the light emitting elements, the optical member having a semicircular or semielliptical cross-sectional surface, and gutter-shaped in a longitudinal direction with respect to the substrate. A wavelength converting member covers the semicircular or semielliptical cross-sectional surface of the optical member, and is excitable by light from the solid-state light emitting elements to thereby emit wavelength-converted light. In various embodiments light diffusion members may be further distributed among the light emitting elements.

Lighting device topology for reducing unevenness in LED luminance and color

A light emitting device includes a plurality of solid-state light emitting elements; a board on which the solid-state light emitting elements are arranged in the form of an array; and a light distribution adjusting member for adjusting a distribution of lights outputted from the solid-state light emitting elements. The light distribution adjusting member is provided to commonly cover at least two of the solid-state light emitting elements, and includes an accommodating portion which accommodates the solid-state light emitting elements; a concave curved surface portion provided above light output surfaces of the solid-state light emitting elements and immediately above the solid-state light emitting elements; and a pair of convex curved surface portions which are provided in opposite sides of the concave curved surface portion, each of the convex curved surface portions being smoothly connected to the concave curved surface portion.

Light emitting device and illumination apparatus including same

A light emitting device includes a solid light-emitting element; a mounting substrate mounting the solid light-emitting element thereon; an encapsulating member encapsulating the solid light-emitting element; and a lead frame electrically connected to the solid light-emitting element through a wire. The lead frame is arranged on a rear surface of the mounting substrate, and the mounting substrate includes a front mounting surface on which the solid light-emitting element is mounted. The front mounting surface having a smooth surface region covered with the encapsulating member. The mounting substrate further includes a wire hole through which the wire extends from the front mounting surface of the mounting substrate to the rear surface thereof.

Light emitting device and illumination apparatus using same

A light emitting device includes a solid-state light emitting element; and a wavelength converting member made of a transparent resin containing a fluorescent material, the transparent resin being coated on an output surface of the solid-state light emitting element. The wavelength converting member is formed to have a thickness larger in a vertical direction of the solid-state light emitting element than that in a lateral direction of the solid-state light emitting element in a cross section that is parallel to a light output direction of the solid-state light emitting element and have a zenith in the light output direction.

A light emitting device comprises: an LED chip mounted in a recess formed in a mounting substrate; a wavelength converting member that is disposed so as to cover the recess and the edge area around the recess and that is excited by light emitted from the LED chip to emit light of a wavelength different from an excitation wavelength; and an emission control member disposed at a light output side of the wavelength converting member so as to allow emission of light coming from an area of the wavelength converting member that corresponds to the recess and to prevent emission of light coming from an area of the wavelength converting member that corresponds to the edge area around the recess. This can prevent variations in color between light emitted from the central part of the wavelength converting member and light emitted from the part of the wavelength converting member that is located on the edge area around the recess of the mounting substrate, thereby reducing unevenness of color on the irradiation surface.

Light emitting device using light emitting diode chip

A light-emitting device () has a submount () and a plate for heat transfer () having a metallic plate (). The submount () has a mount base (), at least one light-emitting diode chip () mounted thereon and electrically conducting lines (-) formed on the mount base () to be connected electrically to the light-emitting diode chip (). A first plane () of the mount base () of the submount () is bonded thermally to the first plate (). For example, the plate is a circuit board having a metallic plate (), and the submount () is bonded thermally to the metallic plate () of the one of the at least one plate (). In an example, a second plate for heat transfer is also bonded thermally to a second plane of the mount base () for providing a plurality of heat transfer paths.

Light-emitting device

A light-emitting device which uses and LED having a light-emitting element being placed on a package substrate. The light-emitting element has a light-extracting surface. A fluorescent element which is formed by dispersing a fluorescent material in a transparent substance and is placed face to face with the light-extracting surface of the light emitting element and comprises a clearance gap in between. The light-emitting element generates light of a certain wavelength that emanates through the light-extracting surface into the fluorescent element where the wavelength is changed. The device further comprises an optical element which receives light from the light-emitting element through the fluorescent element and directs the light to the outside of the device.
