A catheter assembly includes: a catheter; a catheter hub; an inner needle; a needle hub; and a deflection suppressing mechanism suppressing deflection of the inner needle. The deflection suppressing mechanism includes an upper deflection suppressing portion positioned on an upper side of the inner needle and a lower deflection suppressing portion positioned on a lower side of the inner needle. At least one of the upper deflection suppressing portion and the lower deflection suppressing portion is movable with respect to the needle hub.

Catheter assembly

An indwelling needle assembly has a hollow outer needle, an outer-needle hub fixed to the base end of the outer needle, an inner needle inserted into the outer needle, an inner-needle hub fixed to the base end of the inner needle, a tube connected to the base end (or a side section) of the outer-needle hub so that the inner cavity of the tube is communicated with the inner cavity of the outer needle, and a protector that, when the inner needle is removed from the outer needle, covers at least the point of the inner needle and disconnectably connected to the outer-needle hub. A finger hold is formed in a projecting manner on a protector cover of the protector, and the finger hold is pressed by a finger to move the outer needle in the direction of its tip relative to the inner needle. The finger hold is formed in a shape that, when the outer needle is moved in the direction of its tip relative to the inner needle, causes force applied in the direction in which the finger hold projects relative to the center axis of the outer needle to act on the finger hold.

Indwelling needle assembly

A method of producing an indwelling needle assembly formed by assembling an inner needle having a point only at its tip, an inner needle hub fixed to the base end of the inner needle, a hollow outer needle through which the inner needle is insertable, an outer needle hub fixed to the base end of the outer needle, and an elastic seal member on the outer needle hub effecting sealing when the inner needle is withdrawn. The method involves: inserting the inner needle into the seal member to set the inner needle to an inserted state; applying, in the inserted state, lubricant to the outer peripheral surface of at least that portion of the inner needle which protrudes from the seal member; and axially reciprocating at least one time the inner needle relative to the seal member to cause the lubricant to penetrate the inside of the seal member.

Method of producing indwelling needle assembly and indwelling needle assembly

An indwelling needle assembly includes a stylet having a sharp needlepoint at an end thereof, a stylet hub secured to a base end of the stylet, a hollow outer needle in which the stylet is inserted, an outer needle hub secured to a base end of the outer needle, an opening formed at the base end or at a side of the outer needle hub to communicate with the inner cavity of the outer needle, a seal fitted onto the outer needle hub and in which a hole or slit is provided for insertion of the stylet therein, the hole or slit being formed to become closed when the inserted stylet is extracted, an operating part installed on the outer needle hub to move the stylet and outer needle along the longitudinal direction when the stylet is inserted into the outer needle, and a movement suppresser for stopping or suppressing moving the stylet relative to the seal when the operating part is operated.

An indwelling needle assembly, including an inner needle having a sharp needle point at a distal end thereof; an inner needle hub which is fixed to a proximal portion of the inner needle and which has a proximal end face; a hollow outer needle into which the inner needle is inserted; and an outer needle hub fixed to a proximal portion of the outer needle, the inner needle is adhered and fixed to the inner needle hub with an adhesive at a proximal portion thereof, and the inner needle hub is provided with a projected part formed by projecting the adhesive toward a proximal side relative to the proximal end face.

Indwelling needle assembly and method of using the same

An indwelling needle assembly has a hollow outer needle fixed to an outer needle hub, an inner needle in the outer needle and fixed to an inner needle hub, and a protector. A step section of the outer needle hub serves as a speed reducer that reduces the speed, in the direction of the flow path axis of a main pipe, of a liquid portion flowing in the flow path, the portion flowing along that portion of the inner surface of the main pipe located on that side of the main pipe on which a branch flow path is located. The step section has an opening in the inner surface of the main pipe located at a position corresponding to a front end opening of the branch flow path. The step section forms a space between the opening and the front end opening of the branch flow path.
