A double-walled container comprises an outer container that is a bottomed, cylindrical container made of a material with high rigidity, and whose cylindrical body has a horizontal cross-sectional shape with an inner perimeter surface thereof being circular; and an inner container that is a bottomed, cylindrical container, and whose cylindrical body has a horizontal cross-sectional shape with an outer perimeter surface thereof being a non-circular shape, a radius of a circle circumscribed around the non-circular shape being greater than a radius of the inner perimeter surface of the outer container, and the inner container being elastically deformed so as to have portions thereof snugly fit in the inner perimeter surface of the outer container when placed inside the outer container such that respective cylindrical axes are parallel to each other.

A battery management method and apparatus. In one embodiment of the method, a source current is divided into Ic and Icr. Ic is transmitted to and charges a battery. A first voltage is generated that is related to Icr. The first voltage is converted into a first digital signal. A processing unit receives and processes the first digital signal in accordance with instructions stored in a memory. The transmission of Ic to the battery is interrupted in response to the processing unit processing the first digital signal. Current provided by the battery is divided into Idc and Idcr. Idc is transmitted to a device. A second voltage is generated that is related to Idcr. The second voltage is converted into a second digital signal. The processing unit receives and processes the second digital signal in accordance with instructions stored in the memory. The transmission of Idc to the battery is interrupted in response to the processing unit processing the second digital signal.

In a power control device for a vehicle in which an electric motor for driving the vehicle to travel is supplied with power from a battery mounted on the vehicle and a fuel cell, a control unit sets a target charging rate (SOCt) of the battery in such a manner that the target charging rate decreases as a remaining fuel amount (Qf) of the fuel cell decreases after the power generation of the fuel cell is started during high-output/high-speed travelling and controls a power generation output (Pf) of the fuel cell based on a difference between the target charging rate (SOCt) and a current charging rate (SOC).

Power control device for vehicle

A power controlling apparatus includes a secondary battery () connected to an electrical device (), and a fuel cell () connected to the electrical device () and the secondary battery (). The fuel cell () has two non-generating modes including an idling mode and a halt mode, the fuel cell () suspending generation of power while being supplied with fuel in the idling mode, the fuel cell () stopping generation of power without fuel supply in the halt mode. The power controlling apparatus further includes a remainder estimator () to calculate the remaining number of starts representing the remaining number of available starts of the fuel cell (), and a controller () to control the fuel cell () to be one of the two non-generating modes during a non-charging mode of the secondary battery (), based on the remaining number of starts calculated by the remainder estimator ().

Power controlling apparatus

In one embodiment of the cold end switch battery management control method, a battery generates an output voltage at a positive terminal thereof. A first control voltage is also generated by an integrated circuit. A gate of a field effect transistor (FET) receives the first control voltage, wherein the FET comprises a drain and a source with the source coupled to a negative terminal of the battery. The FET transmits current towards the battery in response to the gate receiving the first control voltage, wherein the first control voltage is greater than the output voltage, and wherein the first control voltage is less than a breakdown voltage of the integrated circuit.

Cold end switch battery management control method

A vehicle speed control system includes a first electronic control unit for transmitting a difference between actual and target vehicle speeds and control constants that vary depending on the vehicle speed difference when it determines fulfillment of vehicle speed control conditions, and a second electronic control unit for performing the vehicle speed control based on the vehicle speed difference and control constants received through a communication line. Change of the control constants for adjustment of a vehicle speed control function of the system can be easily carried out by changing the control constants stored in the first electronic control unit.

An electron beam radiation apparatus having an electrostatic deflector capable of deflecting the electron beam with high accuracy and with a reduced displacement of the deflection position, is disclosed. The electrostatic deflector comprises a cylindrical holding member made of an insulating material and a plurality of electrodes separately fixed from each other inside of the holding member with at least a part of the surface thereof covered with a metal film. The holding member has a plurality of wedge-shaped fixing holes corresponding to the portions of the electrodes where they are fixed, respectively, the holes having a larger diameter on the outer peripheral surface than on the inner peripheral surface of the holding member. The electrodes are fixed on the holding member in such a manner that a molten joining metal is injected in the fixing holes with the electrodes arranged on the holding member and the joining metal is hardened in close contact with the metal film of the electrodes. The electrodes fixed on the holding member are so shaped that the inner wall of the holding member is invisible from the cylinder axis of the holding member. The electrodes have a metal thin film formed, by vapor deposition, on the inner wall surface of the electrodes after being fixed on the holding member.
