A flexible-manipulator guide member is provided in an inserted portion of a flexible manipulator including the elongated flexible inserted portion, the movable portion disposed at the distal end of the inserted portion, a drive portion disposed at the base end of the inserted portion, and the elongated driving-force transmitting member that transmits motive power of the drive portion to the movable portion, and is provided with a lumen through which the driving-force transmitting member passes in the longitudinal direction, wherein the lumen has a twisted shape about the longitudinal axis of the inserted portion.

For bending a manipulator without excessive increase in a tensile force acting on a driving power transmitting member, a manipulator is provided with: an end effector; a driving unit; a guide member to which the end effector is attached at one end thereof and the driving unit is attached at the other end thereof; and a driving power transmitting members that transmit the driving power from the driving unit to the end effector, wherein the guide member includes a guide tube that has lumens, and an outer sheath that has a greater rigidity than the guide tube and that covers an outer circumference of the guide tube, and one end of the outer sheath is movable in a longitudinal direction with respect to the end effector or the driving unit.

A medical manipulator includes: an elongated flexible portion configured to be inserted into a body; an end effector disposed on a distal end of the elongated flexible portion; a proximal portion coupled to a proximal end of the elongated flexible portion, the proximal portion being configured to generate power for actuating the end effector; at least two wires configured to transmit the power to the end effector; at least two sheaths configured to form a path of each of the wires within the elongated flexible portion; and a rotating mechanism configured such that either a distal end or a proximal end of each of the sheaths rotates relative to the elongated flexible portion about a longitudinal axis of the elongated flexible portion.

A medical device includes an insertion portion, and a driving mechanism coupled to the insertion portion, wherein the insertion portion includes a treatment portion configured to perform a treatment on a target portion, a joint portion capable of supporting the treatment portion and changing a direction of the treatment portion, a storage portion provided in the joint portion and capable of internally accommodating the treatment portion, and a driving force transmission portion connected to the joint portion and configured to transmit a driving force for changing the direction of the treatment portion to the joint portion, wherein the driving mechanism includes a driving force generation portion configured to generate the driving force, and wherein the treatment portion enters and exits the storage portion by the driving force transmitted from the driving force generation portion to the joint portion through the driving force transmission portion.

In a surgical tool, the treatment tool piece operating joint includes a first operating rotation member which is coupled to the moving member and is rotated around a predetermined rotation center; a second operating rotation member which is coupled to the first operating rotation member so as to relatively rotate around a rotation center coaxial with the second bending rotary shaft in a rotation direction opposite to a rotation direction of the first operating rotation member or around a rotation center that is a position closer to the first bending rotary shaft than the second bending rotary shaft in a rotation direction opposite to a rotation direction of the first operating rotation member; and a link which converts a rotational force of the second operating rotation member into the operation of the treatment tool piece.

Provided is a medical treatment tool, the distance between a first advance and retraction axis, and a tip end is shorter than the length of the first link member, and the length when a line segment connecting the base end and the center of a forceps rotation shaft is projected on the first advance and retraction axis is shorter than the length is projected on the first advance and retraction axis. A surgical instrument for performing treatment to a treatment target portion includes a cylindrical elongated member; a treatment part, and a connection part. The connection part includes a first turning axis part provided to the elongated member, a second turning axis part provided to the treatment part, a first rolling guide part that is provided to the elongated member and includes a circular-arc-shaped part coaxial with the first turning axis part, a second rolling guide part that is provided to the treatment part and includes a rolling guide part including a circular-arc-shaped part coaxial with the second turning axis part, the rolling guide part rollingly contacting the first rolling guide part, and an engaging part that brings the treatment part and the elongated member into an engaging state. The connection part is detachable between the first turning axis part and the second turning axis part.

Provided is a manipulator including a first forceps piece and a second forceps piece, which are connected by a pivotal axle and have a gripping part opened or closed on a leading end side thereof. The manipulator includes a manipulation member that is connected to a base end side of the pair of forceps pieces, and moves forward or backward in an axial direction to open or close the gripping part, a first buffer part that has a first spring constant, and undergoes elastic deformation to change a grasping force generated at the gripping part on the basis of the first spring constant and a pulling amount of the manipulation member, and a stopper that regulates the elastic deformation of the first buffer part.

A bending joint mechanism includes a joint section. The joint section includes a shaft section, an actuating section, a coupling member and a rod section. The rod section has an elastic portion which is elastically deformable in directions other than the axial direction of the shaft section.

A stabilizer for in vivo examination that is placed in contact with a biological specimen during examination of the specimen to suppress movement thereof includes a contact-area increasing portion that is provided on a contact surface with the biological specimen and that is configured to increase the contact area with the biological specimen by virtue of a pressure applied during the contact.
