An information processing apparatus controls display contrast of a display screen based on a stored display contrast value. The information processing apparatus includes a display screen, an input unit for inputting data, a storage unit for storing a display contrast value, a unit for adjusting the display contrast of the display screen based on the stored display contrast value, a measuring unit for measuring the time after the completion of data input from the input unit while the display contrast is being adjusted, a value changing unit for changing the stored display contrast value stored in the storage unit after a first predetermined period of the time measured by the measuring unit elapses, and a changing unit for changing the display contrast of the display screen based on the display contrast changed by the value changing unit.

Correction of coordinates input by a user through an input device is effected using coordinate correction parameters. To calculate the coordinate correction parameters, a plurality of reference points are displayed on the input device. Coordinate input is designated by a user, and if the coordinate is determined to correspond to a reference point, then the coordinate input is retained. The process is repeated until a coordinate is kept for each reference point, wherein only remaining reference point(s) for which a corresponding coordinate has not yet been retained are displayed. An image information transmitting/receiving apparatus for time and cost-saving repetitive transmission. In facsimile communication, image data where further information is added to previously-transmitted image data is often received. In the present apparatus, the original image data is stored, and only difference data from the original image data is transmitted, thus the whole image can be reproduced at the receiving side, using the received difference data. Upon transmitting the difference image information, identification information identifying the difference image information is added to the difference information, and the entire image data to be received by the receiving side is stored. Upon receiving the difference image information, the received difference information is combined with the stored image data, and an image is reproduced based on the combined image data. Further, the image data used for image reproduction is stored as original image data for the next transmission. In this manner, once the original image data is stored, only difference data is sent at each subsequent transmission, thus reducing the amount of transmission data.
