Coil ends ( ) of a stator coil ( ) having a cross sectional shape like a flat rectangular are constructed by first portions extending from an outer layer of a pair of slots apart from predetermined pitches in an axial direction and slanting in a circumferential direction, second portions extending from an inner layer of the other of the pair of the slots in the axial direction and slanting in the circumferential direction, and third portions positioned at ends of the coil ends ( ) in the axial directions, elongated in the radial direction and connected to ends of the first and second portions in the axial direction, and in all of the first, second and third portions, long sides ( ) of the cross sectional flat rectangular view of the stator coil ( ) are arranged to be substantially in parallel with an end surface of the stator whereby the coil ends are lowered; and the coils are arranged without a gap.

Alternator

An automotive alternator includes a shaft supported in a pair of brackets so as to rotate freely, a rotor secured to the shaft, a stator provided with a cylindrical stator core having a plurality of slots whose grooves extend in an axial direction of the stator core disposed circumferentially around the inner circumferential surface thereof and a stator coil wound into the slots, the stator core being secured to the pair of brackets so as to envelop the rotor, and a rectifier disposed within the pair of brackets so as to be positioned at the rear end of the rotor, wherein the stator coil is constructed by inserting a plurality of coil segments into each of the slots so as to align in rows in the radial direction within the slots and connecting the tips of each of the coil segments projecting axially outwards from the stator core to the tips of coil segments inserted into slots a predetermined number of slots away projecting axially outwards from the stator core, and wherein the coil segments are formed into a shape such that when inserted into the slots the tips extending axially outwards from the stator core are in close proximity to and overlap radially with the tips of the coil segments inserted into slots a predetermined number of slots away projecting axially outwards from the stator core.

Automotive alternator

The stator includes a stator core having a plurality of slots; and a plurality of windings composed of coil units formed by winding coil strands a certain number of times and having a plurality of straight portions and coil end portions joining the ends of adjacent straight portions, the windings being incorporated into the stator core by inserting the plurality of straight portions into the slots in sequence at intervals of a certain number of slots and allowing the coil end portions to protrude axially outward from the ends of the stator core. Each coil strand has a coil shape composed such that after coming out of a slot, the strand extends in one direction around the circumference so as to be pointed axially outward and away from the end of the stator core, then doubles back towards the radially inner edge, extends in the one direction around the circumference so as to approach the end of the stator core, and enters a slot three slots away from the slot out of which the core strand came in the one direction around the circumference, and the strands are arranged so as to overlap around the circumference at the turn around portion of the coil shape and its vicinity.

Stator for vehicle alternator

A stator wedge having a cross section of a dove-tail is disposed at a radially inner side of each of a plurality of slots formed in a ring-shaped core and having a coil inserted therein. Also a guide jig for guiding the wedge having the dove-tail cross section into the slots. The guide jig has formed in both side surfaces an edge portion engageable with the wedge.

A stator wedge having a cross section of a dove-tail is disposed at a radially inner side of each of a plurality of slots formed in a ring-shaped core and having a coil inserted therein. Also disclosed is a guide jig for guiding the wedge having the dove-tail cross section into the slots. The guide jig has formed in both side surfaces an edge portion engageable with the wedge.

Stator wedge and guide jig therefor

A method for manufacturing a stator of a motor having a coil wound on a ring-shaped core having a plurality of slots. The coil is first preformed into a chevron-shape before being mounted on the core so that the chevron-shaped coil comprises front coil end portions positioned within the inner diameter of the core, slot coil portions positioned at the diameter of the slots and having substantially the same configuration as the slots, rear coil end portions positioned between the slot coil portions, and transition coil portions positioned between the front coil end portion and the slot coil portions. This preformed coil is inserted into the core from its end face and the front coil end portions are bent toward the outside of the inner diameter of the core.

Stator manufacturing method

An armature of an a.c. generator for a car comprising a stator core provided with a number of slots and stator coils fitted in the slots wherein about a half in number of coil elements of each radially extending portion of the stator coils received in the slots is received in the other slots.
