A mixer includes an adder that inputs a first high-frequency signal and a second high-frequency signal for local use, adds the first high-frequency signal and the second high-frequency signal, and outputs as an addition signal; a magnetoresistive effect element that includes a fixed magnetic layer, a free magnetic layer, and a non-magnetic spacer layer disposed between the fixed magnetic layer and the free magnetic layer, and is operable when the addition signal has been inputted, to multiply the first high-frequency signal and the second high-frequency signal included in the addition signal using a magnetoresistive effect to generate a multiplication signal; a magnetic field applying unit applying a magnetic field to the free magnetic layer; and a first impedance converting unit that is passive, inputs the multiplication signal outputted from the magnetoresistive effect element, converts the multiplication signal to a lower impedance than an input impedance, and outputs the converted signal.

A mixer includes a magnetoresistive effect element, a magnetic field applying unit, and an impedance circuit. The magnetoresistive effect element includes a fixed magnetic layer, a free magnetic layer, and a nonmagnetic spacer layer disposed between the fixed magnetic layer and the free magnetic layer, is operable when a first high-frequency signal and a second high-frequency signal as a local signal are inputted, to multiply the first high-frequency signal and the second high-frequency signal according to a magnetoresistive effect to generate a multiplication signal. The magnetic field applying unit applies a magnetic field to the free magnetic layer. The impedance circuit has a higher impedance for the multiplication signal than an impedance for the first high-frequency signal and the second high-frequency signal and is disposed between an input transfer line, which transfers the first high-frequency signal and the second high-frequency signal, and the magnetoresistive effect element.

A circuit device includes at least one under bump metal formed on a surface of a substrate and a connection bump provided on the uppermost layer of the under bump metal. At least one laminated metallic film is formed on part of or all of wiring pattern formed on the surface of the substrate, so that the laminated metallic film formed consists of the same material and has the same thickness as the under bump metal.

Circuit device and method of manufacturing the circuit device

A radio frequency signal output module having a power amplifier and an isolator element is provided in which a radio-frequency output stage can be largely reduced in size and thickness. The radio frequency signal output module comprises a dielectric multilayer substrate; a radio-frequency power amplifier circuit; an isolator element; an impedance matching circuit which is inserted and connected between the radio-frequency power amplifier circuit and the isolator element; and a feedback loop for controlling the gain of the radio-frequency power amplifier circuit. The radio-frequency power amplifier circuit, the isolator element, the impedance matching circuit, and the feedback loop are integrally mounted on the dielectric multilayer substrate, and the feedback loop is branched from the impedance matching circuit, and connected to the radio-frequency power amplifier circuit.

An isolator device with a built-in power amplifier includes a single dielectric multi-layered substrate, a high frequency power amplifier circuit, an isolator element, and circuit elements provided to the dielectric multi-layered substrate. The high frequency power amplifier circuit and the isolator element are connected with each other through the circuit elements and united with the single dielectric multi-layered substrate.

A rectangular plate shaped rapid temperature rise heater element includes a sintered insulating ceramic layer, an exothermic section, and first and second lead layers for applying voltage across the exothermic section to develop heat. Typically the sintered insulating ceramic layer, exothermic section, and lead layers are formed of ceramic compositions composed mainly of an identical insulating component in the form of a metal oxide, typically Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and an identical conductive component in the form of a metal silicide and/or carbide, typically MoSi.sub.2, blended in different ratios for the respective layers. The heater element is easy and inexpensive to manufacture, capable of rapid heating, and durable.

Ceramic heater

An overcoating inorganic composition is applied to a ceramic substrate for forming an overcoat thereon which has improved flexural strength, matches in thermal expansion with the substrate, and is reliable in that it is free of a crack and causes no variation in the resistance of thick film resistors even under rigorous service conditions. The overcoating inorganic composition contains 70-90% by volume of an inorganic glass component and 10-30% by volume of mullite powder and has a coefficient of thermal expansion in the range of from 50.times.10.sup.-7 to 75.times.10.sup.7 /.degree. C.
