A portable telephone comprises: a battery pack detachable from a portable telephone body, the battery pack including: a recess in a head section thereof; a hook formed in a bottom section thereof; and a back protrusion on the back of said head section, the portable telephone body includes: a bottom recess engageable with said hook; a slide pawl engageable with said recess in the head section of the battery pack; and a slide protrusion which is integral with the slide pawl, and which, when the slide pawl is slid, is slid and brought into contact with the back protrusion, thereby to forcibly push the head of the battery pack out of the electronic device.

Battery pack removing device

A battery pack that reduces thickness and lightens weight as required for battery power sources of portable electronic equipment. A battery pack is constituted by accommodating a battery and battery protection device between a top case and bottom case forming a pack case. Since the battery is formed accommodated within an external casing wherein positive and negative electrode plates are formed by laminated sheet, reduced thickness and reduced weight of battery pack can be achieved. Also, since the face of bottom case opposite the battery is formed as a resiliently deformable face which is formed of small thickness, when expansion takes place such that the thickness of the battery as a whole increases, resiliently deformable face deforms maintaining a planar condition by resilient deformation, so that there is no possibility of an adverse effect on the equipment due to drum-shaped swelling being produced in battery pack, by such swelling.

In a battery pack, pitfalls are provided at both end portions in the width direction of a rear surface lower portion of a portable phone main body. Projections higher than the electrode pins are provided at both ends in the width direction of a lower surface lower end portion of the battery pack at the position corresponding to the pitfalls. Grooves or a gap for guiding the projections are provided at both end portions in the width direction of the rear surface of the portable phone main body. In mounting the battery pack in the portable phone, the projections are contacted with the rear surface of the portable phone so that the battery pack slides to the lower side of the portable phone main body with the projections guided along the grooves gap. When the projections drop in the pitfalls after the tip of the battery pack passes above the pins, the pins are forced against the electrode of the battery pack according to the force of a biasing spring so as to be connected electrically in a conventional manner. The battery pack is fixed in position by fitting the upper end of the battery pack with a battery engaging portion of the portable phone.

A portable radio provided with a slidable antenna retractably supported by a housing, an antenna operating member movably mounted in the housing for projecting an antenna top portion from the housing by sliding the antenna in a first direction toward the outside of the housing or for releasing the antenna to enable the antenna to slide in a retracting direction opposite to the first direction, and an operating portion for operating the antenna operating member from outside the housing.

A cover movably connected to a body of a radio is formed with an engaging hole for locking. A locking engaging projection formed in the radio body can move between the disengaging and engaging positions with respect to the engaging hole, and a switch operating projection formed in the radio body can move between the actuating and releasing positions for a receive switch. When the engaging projection and the switch operating projection are moved in correlation to each other by an operating portion in operation, the engaging projection is disengaged from the engaging hole so as to release the cover, and the receive switch is actuated by the switch operating projection so as to open the cover in call reception.

A radio transceiver apparatus is provided which includes (1) a radio transceiver carrying a removable battery pack which is charged when the radio transceiver is set on a holder including a charger, and (2) an adapter carrying an auxiliary battery pack, identical with the removable battery pack, which is charged when the adapter and auxiliary battery pack are set on the holder alternatively to the radio transceiver.

Portable radio transceiver apparatus

A portable type mobile radio telephone wherein a battery holding device and a handset cradle is formed on one wider surface of the flat-shaped transceiver unit to be in parallel to each other. The transceiver unit has a guide hole and a first connector at a narrower surface thereof, and a base plate is attached to the battery holding device and the cradle so as to be interposed between the battery holding device and the transceiver unit, and the base plate has a curved portion at one end portion thereof such that the curved portion faces one narrower surface of the transceiver unit. The curved portion is provided with a guide pin and a second connector so that the first and second connectors are guided by connection of the guide pin and the guide hole and coupled with each other when the base plate is moved in a parallel direction with respect to the wider surface of the transceiver unit. The transceiver unit has an engaging projection on the wider surface thereof and the base plate has an engaging hole which is positioned to face the engaging projection when the first and second connectors are coupled with each other. The transceiver unit and the base plate are connected to each other by engagement of the engaging hole and the engaging projection.
