Provided are a webbing-threading member and a seatbelt device that can prevent deviation of webbing (a so-called jamming phenomenon) by preventing rotation of the webbing-threading member. A webbing-threading memberof the present invention includes a bodyrotatably mounted on the side of a vehicle, a threading holeformed in the bodyfor guiding the webbing W, and a guide pieceplaced on a surface of the threading holeand forming a sliding surfaceover which the webbing W slides. The guide piecehas, on the sliding surface, engaging groovesthat cause a pressing force to act in such a direction as to rotate the bodytoward a vehicle front side at the time of withdrawing the webbing W, and that cause a pressing force to act in such a direction as to rotate the bodytoward a vehicle rear side at the time of retracting the webbing W.

A thick film thermal head includes a substrate which is provided with a linear groove and is heat-conductive at least at a part of the surface facing the groove. Thick film thermal head and method of making the same

A thick film thermal head includes an electrical insulating substrate and a photosensitive material layer which is formed on the substrate and is provided with a linear groove formed on a surface thereof by exposing it to light. An elongated resistance heater is embedded in the groove, and a plurality of electrodes are formed on the surface of the photosensitive material layer in contact with the resistance heater and arranged in the longitudinal direction of the resistance heater.

A thick film thermal head includes a substrate which is provided with a groove on a surface to extend in a main scanning direction and has an electrically conductive portion which faces the groove and extends substantially over the entire length of the groove. A resistance heater strip is embedded in the groove to be in contact with the electrically conductive portion substantially over its entire length. A plurality of discrete electrodes are formed on the surface of the substrate and are in contact with the resistance heater strip at predetermined intervals in the main scanning direction. The discrete electrodes are electrically insulated from the electrically conductive portion of the substrate except through the resistance heater strip, and the electrically conductive portion is connected to a power source to be applied with an electrical potential and forms a common electrode. The discrete electrodes are connected to the power source through respective switching means to be selectively supplied with an electrical potential different from that applied to the electrically conductive portion.

Thick film thermal head and method of manufacturing the same

An ink jet apparatus is formed of a storing section for storing an electrically conductive ink, an electrode device formed in the storing section, and a nozzle. The conductive ink contains an electrically conductive liquid and an electrically conductive material having an electrical conductivity higher than that of the conductive liquid. The electrode device applies an alternating current to the conductive ink stored in the storing section to generate bubbles in the conductive liquid. The conductive ink is ejected through the nozzle due to generation of the bubbles by application of the alternating current.

A thick film thermal head includes a plurality of first and second electrodes which extend in a sub-scanning direction and are alternately arranged in a main scanning direction intersecting the sub-scanning direction at predetermined spaces. A resistance heater continuously extends in the main scanning direction across the first and second electrodes. Parts of the resistance heater between adjacent first and second electrodes form a plurality of resistance heater elements which are arranged in the main scanning direction and generate heat when energized through the first and second electrodes. A thick film type thermal head for thermally perforating a stencil material in an imagewise pattern to make a stencil is moved along the stencil material in a sub-scanning direction while energizing a plurality of heater elements arranged in an array extending in a main scanning direction. The thermal head includes an electric heater strip extending in the main scanning direction direction, and a plurality of first and second electrodes which are alternately disposed spaced from each other in the main scanning direction and extend across the heater strip in contact with the electrodes. The parts of the heater strip between adjacent first and second electrodes form the heater elements. An electrical insulating layer is disposed between the first and second electrodes and the heater strip at least on one side of the heater strip so that the width of the electrical contact area between the first and second electrodes and the heater strip becomes smaller than the width of the heater strip.

Apparatus for reading image recorded on film

In an auto-focus apparatus of the invention, an image sensor (e.g., a CCD) produces an image signal corresponding to an image on a microfilm. The image signal from the image sensor is encoded to a binary image signal by a binary encoding circuit. Alternation points (i.e., leading or trailing edges) of the binary image signal are counted by a counter. A system controller fetches count values from the counter, and detects an image position corresponding to a maximum count value. The system controller causes a lens driving circuit to move an imaging lens to the detected image position.
