A group print contains a main frame and a plurality of smaller sub frames arranged on one side or on two or three sides of the main frame, or around the main frame. The sub frames contains pictures relating to a picture of the main frame. To make the group print, the main frame is selected from among a plurality of picture frames, and the sub frames are selected from among those picture frames photographed in series with the main frame, or those having the same group ID data as the main frame. Then, image data of the main and sub frames are synthesized in according with a predetermined group print format to produce print image data, such that the main frame is merged in a main frame print area, and the sub frames are reduced in size and merged in a sub frame print area that is located adjacent to the main frame print area.

An image testing method which improves an image testing ability and enables rapid testing processing. When an operator effects testing for an image displayed at a set test position and instructs alteration of a printing condition set by the testing, the image is scrolled and the next image is displayed at the test position without the altered image being displayed. When the next image is displayed at the test position, the operator starts testing for the next image without moving his/her line of vision.

Image testing method

Picture frames on a color photographic film are detected with a television camera, and the color images of the picture frames are displayed in a matrix arrangement on a color monitor. In order to display color images of picture frames at the same dimension on the color display irrespective of the picture frame size of the color photographic film, a specific area from which pixels are picked up is determined in accordance with the picture frame size, and pixel thinning is performed. Pixels for an image taken as a full size on the 135 type color photographic film are thinned by removing every second pixel in both the vertical and horizontal directions, and pixels for an image taken as a half size on the 135 type color photographic film are thinned by removing every second pixel in the vertical direction within the specific area, and interchanging the vertical and horizontal addresses to read the image data rotated by 90 degrees. Pixels for an image of a 110 type color photographic film all are picked from the specific area as the image data.

A color film analyzing method and apparatus which displays image data of frames of the film as positive images provided by a TV camera, and a plurality of reference images previously provided and stored in a recording member, in a matrix pattern on an image display device. When one of the color images of the picture frames is specified, the image line of the matrix including the specified image is shifted so that the specified image is adjacent to the reference image line on the image display device and a cursor image is displayed overlapping a portion of the specified image. The cursor image is provided as a reversed image of the part of the specified image where the specified image is overlapped by the cursor image. If the reversed image has a color identical or similar to the portion of the specified image surrounding the cursor image, the cursor image is colored differently. Any images, when specified, may be magnified and displayed at the center of the image display device, and the remaining images may be eliminated.

Color film analyzing method and apparatus

A color negative inspection apparatus includes at least one color image display device which displays a plurality of color positive images of a single frame of a color negative film for inspection, one of the plurality of color positive images being displayed through simulation for a standardized printing exposure condition of a printing apparatus to which the color negative film is fed upon printing and the remaining through automatic simulation for at least one of color and density corrections stepwise over or under in respect to the one of the plurality of color positive images. If there is no color positive images corrected suitably for printing, the one of the plurality of color images is manually corrected in color and density and thereby the remaining are correspondingly corrected for inspection.

Color negative inspection apparatus

A color negative inspection apparatus which reads color image data from a frame of a color negative film and stores in a memory color image data sequentially read from N frames of the color negative film, N being an integer at least as large as 2. The N color positive images are displayed based on the color image data stored in the memory. The N color positive images correspond to the N frames of the color negative film. The N color positive images are shifted by one frame each time color image data is read from a frame of the color negative film.

Color negative inspection apparatus for displaying and sequentially

A printing and trimming apparatus includes a negative film sheet for housing a negative film. The sheet enables trimming information such as the size and position of a trimming frame to be recorded thereon. The trimming information is once stored in a memory means. A control means controls a variable-magnification optical means on the basis of the trimming information read out from the memory means in such a manner that a printing and trimming operation is properly effected.
