An adhesive resin composition including a propylene polymer (A), an ethylene polymer (B), and a thermoplastic resin (C) including a copolymer containing not less than 60 mol % and not more than 99 mol % of structural units derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene, and not less than 1 mol % and not more than 40 mol % of structural units derived from a C2-C20 α-olefin other than 4-methyl-1-pentene, these structural units representing total 100 mol % of the copolymer, the thermoplastic resin (C) showing a melting point Tm of not more than 199° C. or showing substantially no melting point as analyzed with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The total of the components (A), (B) and (C) includes 45 to 75 parts by mass of the component (A), 5 to 20 parts by mass of the component (B), and 15 to 45 parts by mass of the component (C).

Provided are: a multilayer structure having a strong initial interlayer adhesive force, with a decrease of the interlayer adhesive force being prevented even in a case of use in a harsh environment such as exposure to hot water, an acid, or an alkali for a long period of time; a method for producing such a multilayer structure; and a sheet for preventing diffusion of hazardous substances, a landfill geomembrane, and a multilayer pipe, each including such a multilayer structure.

Modified polyolefin particles are obtained by grafting a monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and a polar functional group in the same molecule to a polymer including one, or two or more specific &#x3b1;-olefins and having a specific melting point, the modified polyolefin particles satisfying the following requirements (1) to (3): (1) the amount of grafting x by the monomer is not less than 0.5 wt % and not more than 20 wt %; (2) the x (wt %) and the intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] (dl/g) measured in decalin at 135&#xb0; C. satisfy the relation: log[&#x3b7;]&#x2265;0.1&#x2212;0.15x; and (3) the particles have a gel content of less than 1 wt %.
