A vehicle drive apparatus includes a motor generator, a speed reduction mechanism connected to a rotor shaft of the motor generator, an output shaft connected to the speed reduction mechanism, an intermediate wall separating the motor generator from the speed reduction mechanism, and a bearing that is fixed to the intermediate wall and supports the rotor shaft. The motor generator, intermediate wall, speed reduction mechanism, and output shaft are disposed in this order, and a ring gear of the speed reduction mechanism is fixed. The ring gear is fixed to the intermediate wall via a ring gear flange that is positioned relative and fixed to the intermediate wall by a centering mechanism and a locking mechanism. The centering mechanism is formed by fitting a boss of the ring gear flange and the intermediate wall. The locking mechanism is disposed on an outer peripheral side relative to the centering mechanism.

Vehicle drive apparatus

A planetary gear unit inside a case includes coaxial sun and ring gears, a planetary pinion gear that meshes with the sun and ring gears, and a carrier that holds the planetary pinion gear, the ring gear being fixed with respect to the case, and a flange disposed inward of the ring gear. The ring gear is fixed to a case wall, via the flange, the wall extending radially inward, and the flange being prevented from rotating with respect to the wall by a rotation prevention mechanism. The rotation prevention mechanism includes a plurality of case holes on the same circle in the wall, flange holes in the flange at positions corresponding to the case holes, and rotation prevention members fitted into the case and flange holes to prevent rotation of the flange with respect to the wall with the flange relatively movable axially with respect to the wall.

Planetary gear unit

A drive device control unit that controls a drive device including a rotating electrical machine, the drive device control unit includes a control substrate that controls the drive device; a switching element module that forms an inverter that drives the rotating electrical machine; a smoothing capacitor that smoothes an input power supply of the inverter; a first base having the switching element module fixed thereto; and a second base supported by the first base and having the smoothing capacitor fixed to a first surface of the second base, wherein the control substrate is fixed to a second surface of the second base opposite to the first surface having the smoothing capacitor fixed thereto.

Drive device control unit

An inverter unit includes a reactor and switching elements that form a voltage boost circuit that boosts a power supply voltage; a switching element for an inverter that forms an inverter circuit to be supplied with the power supply voltage boosted by the voltage boost circuit; and a cooling unit provided with a coolant passage that carries coolant along a cooling face with which the reactor and the switching elements of the voltage boost circuit and the switching element of the inverter circuit are in contact.

Inverter unit

A hybrid drive unit includes a main body case having a connection portion connected to an engine, the main body case accommodating therein a rotating electric machine; and an inverter case integrated with the main body case, the inverter case accommodating therein an inverter that controls the rotating electric machine, wherein an inverter breather is disposed in a side wall portion of the inverter case on a side of the connection portion so as to provide communication between an inside and an outside of the inverter case.
