The present invention enables a simple structure to provide an easy adjustment of damping torque to be caused by applied rotation. The rotary damper () is intend to limit movement of viscous fluid filled in a circular cylindrical chamber (), thereby generating a damping torque in response to an applied rotational force. The lid () is the screw-on type capable of being screwed into the casing (), and thus adjusting a clearance gap G1 between the lid () and each partition () by way of changing the screwing amount of the lid () into the casing () allows amount of viscous fluid moving through the clearance gap G1 to be adjusted, thereby resulting in adjustment of a damping torque to be caused by rotation. In addition, each axial force generation member () includes a plastically or elastically deformable element and is located between the lid () and the corresponding partition () to apply a reaction force to the lid (). This causes screwing the lid () into the casing () to generate an axial force, thereby preventing external-leakage of the viscous fluid via a threaded interface between the lid () and the casing (), and allows the leeway for the adjustment of the clearance gap G1 to increase.

Rotary damper

Provided is a rotary damper () suitable for use as a damper for a brake pedal with a fail-safe feature. In the rotary damper () intended for a brake pedal of an automobile and configured to generate a damping torque by rotation of a casing () in a forward direction N relative a rotor (), the casing () is made of thermoplastic resin and is provided with a pair of arms () projecting radially outward so as to hold a plate () therebetween. The plate () is configured to rotate about a pedal rotation center in conjunction with the brake pedal (). Moreover, the arm () out of the arms (), which is located downstream in the forward direction, includes a curved portion () with a constant width and a supporting portion () located more distal than the curved portion () is, and is configured to support the plate () with the supporting portion ().

Rotary damper, and brake system

Provided is a damper capable of damping a moving member which reciprocates along an axis, using a damping force having a hysteresis property. A damper includes a cylindrical housing into which a push rod is to be inserted in the direction of an axis thereof, and a damping mechanism placed in the housing and capable of damping the push rod by a damping force having a hysteresis property, wherein the damper is to be attached using a master cylinder mount space of a clutch pedal unit. In the damping mechanism of the damper, engagement between a helical cam groove formed in an inner wall of the housing and a guide protrusion formed on an outer circumference of a rotatable friction disk causes reciprocating linear motion of the push rod to be converted into rotating motion of the rotatable friction disk, and other friction disks, placed on both sides of the rotatable friction disk are pressed against respective sliding surfaces, of the rotating friction disk by an elastic force of a coil spring depending on an amount of displacement of the push rod.

Damper and operation unit

A rotary damper () has a first sealing ring () and a first bushing () which are located between a through-hole () of a circular cylindrical chamber () inside a case () and a lower end part () of a rotor body () of a rotor (), and a second sealing ring () and a second bushing () which are located between a through-hole () in a lid () and an upper end part () of the rotor body (). The first sealing ring () has an outer peripheral surface () having a width in a direction of a center axis of the circular cylindrical chamber () and being pressed against an inner peripheral surface () of the through-hole (), and an inner peripheral surface () having a width in the direction of the center axis of the circular cylindrical chamber () and being pressed against an outer peripheral surface () of the lower end part (), and the second sealing ring () has an outer peripheral surface () having a width in the direction of the center axis of the circular cylindrical chamber () and being pressed against an inner peripheral surface () of the through-hole(), and an inner peripheral surface () having a width in the direction of the center axis of the circular cylindrical chamber () and being pressed against the outer peripheral surface () of the upper end part ().

Damper

Provided is a rotary damper on which the timing for generating a damping torque can be set freely. Groove-like bypass passages () that are longer in the circumferential direction than vanes () are formed in the upper surface () of a torque regulation plate () arranged on the bottom part () of a cylindrical circular chamber (). When the rotor () rotates in a first rotational direction R, if both end faces () of the vanes () are positioned within a range of the respective bypass passages (), each area () and the corresponding area () are communicated via the corresponding bypass passage (), enabling movement of a viscous fluid () from the area () to the area (). Provided is a damper wherein viscous fluid which fills a circular cylinder chamber is more reliably prevented from leaking. A rotary damper () includes: a first seal ring () of an elastic body, arranged between a through-hole () of a circular cylinder chamber () in a case () and a lower end of a rotor body of a rotor (); and a second seal ring () of an elastic body, arranged between a through-hole () in a lid () and an upper end of the rotor body. Provided is a rotary damper that makes it possible to adjust braking torque characteristics. A rotary damper () that restricts the movement of a viscous fluid () with which the inside of a cylindrical chamber () of a case () has been filled and thereby generates braking torque against applied rotational force. Provided is a rotary damper that makes it possible to easily adjust braking torque. A rotary damper that has a partitioning part and first and second adjustment bolts. The partitioning part has: first and second flow paths that connect regions of a partitioned cylindrical chamber; a first insertion hole that connects to the first flow path and to a first adjustment bolt screw hole of a case; and a second insertion hole that connects to the second flow path and to a second adjustment bolt screw hole of the case. The first adjustment bolt is screwed into the first adjustment bolt screw hole and is thereby inserted into the first insertion hole, and the length to which it protrudes into the first flow path can be adjusted. The second adjustment bolt is screwed into the second adjustment bolt screw hole and is thereby inserted into the second insertion hole, and the length to which it protrudes into the second flow path can be adjusted.
