A compressor includes a motor, a balance weight and a partition. The motor includes a rotor having a first end surface and a second end surface. The balance weight is disposed on the first end surface or the second end surface. The partition is disposed on the first end surface or the second end surface. The rotor has a through hole extending from the first end surface to the second end surface. The partition divides, from the through hole, at least one of a front region and a rear region. The front region is located in front of a front edge of the balance weight in a rotational direction of the rotor. The rear region is located behind a rear edge of the balance weight in the rotational direction of the rotor.

A mold includes a first groove part and a second groove part. The first groove part extends with a constant length or a constant width from a center part to an outer circumferential part of the mold. The second groove part extends from a terminal end of the first groove part on an outer circumferential part side of the first groove part and merging with any portion of the first groove part.

Mold and molding manufacturing method

A semi-molten or semi-solid molding method is used to cast a scroll member having a tabular panel, a spiral section and a columnar part. The method includes filling a cavity formed inside of the molding die with semi-molten or semi-solid metal from a section for forming the columnar part via a runner that forms a channel. The cavity forms a space for casting the scroll member. An angle of intersection &#x3b8;between the runner and the section for forming the columnar part is set such that to 97&#xb0;&#x2266;&#x3b8;&#x2266;135&#xb0;, and/or a ratio R/&#x221a;S is set such that 0.12&#x2266;R/&#x221a;S&#x2266;0.96. R is a radius of curvature of a chamfered section in which the runner intersects the section for forming the columnar part, and &#x221a;S is the square root of a cross-sectional area S of the section for forming the columnar part.

Semi-molten or semi-solid molding method

A high-pressure, dome-type compressor includes a DC motor having a rotor that uses a rare earth/iron/boron permanent magnet having an intrinsic coercive force of 1.7 MA.m or greater in a rotor thereof and has a rated output or 1.9 kW or higher. The motor, which drives a compression element in a casing , is disposed in a high pressure, high temperature area , which is filled with gas discharged from the compression element. An inverter controls current supplied to the motor such that the motor temperature becomes equal to or less than a predetermined temperature and an opposing magnetic field generated in a stator has a predetermined strength or less. Since the magnet does not reach a high temperature and is not exposed to a strong opposing magnetic field, it is hardly demagnetized. As a result, performance of the motor and of the compressor is stable.

Thus obtained is a scroll compressor reducing pulsation when discharging a fluid by feeding the compressed fluid into the pressure chamber.
