A first supply port, a first discharge port, a second supply port, and a second discharge port are formed in a fuel cell. At a time when the fuel cell is activated, a gas supplying step, and a gas flow direction switching step are performed. In the gas supplying step, a first gas is introduced into the fuel cell through the first supply port or the first discharge port, and a second gas is introduced into the fuel cell through the second supply port or the second discharge port. In the gas flow direction switching step, the flow direction of the first gas or the flow direction of the second gas is switched to an opposite direction.

Activation method for fuel cell and activation device therefor

A method for manufacturing a fuel cell assembly includes: arranging an end face of a gas diffusion layer on a placement jig in a state abutting an end face of a resin frame; melting a part of the frame member and causing to penetrate into the gas diffusion layer by pressurizing the projecting part by way of a heat-transfer member, and heating the projecting part via the heat-transfer member by abutting a heating member against of the heat-transfer member; and solidifying the part of the resin frame having penetrated into the gas diffusion layer, in which an abutting position of the heating member relative to the heat transfer member is set in the melting step so that a central axis of the heating member is positioned more to a side of the gas diffusion layer than the central axis of the projecting part.

Method for manufacturing fuel cell assembly

The present invention relates to a fuel cell assembly and method of manufacturing same, and a bonding part manufacturing method and device. For instance, in a resin frame, a depression part is subsidence formed from a lower-end face toward an upper-end face, and a housing hole is pass-through formed from a top surface of the depression part toward the upper-end face. For instance, the depression part, a cathode-side electrode and an electrolyte film are housed, and in such a circumstance, an anode-side electrode is housed in the housing hole. A portion of the resin frame permeates a gas diffusion layer which configures the anode-side electrode and is a porous body. Via the permeated site, the resin frame and the gas diffusion layer (anode-side electrode) are integrally bonded.
