Provided is a transmitter for musical instrument and a mode switching method thereof. A transmitter for musical instrument which is mounted on an electric guitar determines the electric guitar is in a not-in-use state when a continuation time in which a square sum of accelerations output from a three-axis acceleration sensor is smaller than a power-saving threshold value is longer than a power-saving transition time, and the transmitter transitions from a normal mode to an energy-saving mode. On the other hand, when the accelerations in the energy-saving mode becomes equal to or greater than a release threshold value from a state of being smaller than the release threshold value or becomes equal to or smaller than the release threshold value from a state of being greater than the release threshold value, the electric guitar is returned from the energy-saving mode to the normal mode.

Transmitter for musical instrument, and mode switching method thereof

There is provided an electronic percussion instrument including a struck surface and strike sensors. The strike sensors include a central sensor; a plurality of peripheral sensors; a first position calculation device configured to, when an initial half wave of a strike waveform of the central sensor is detected within a first predetermined time after the central sensor detects a strike, calculate a first strike position from the central sensor based on the initial half wave; a second position calculation device configured to calculate a second strike position based on a difference in strike detection by the plurality of peripheral sensors; and a sound production instruction device configured to instruct production of a striking sound based on the first and second strike positions respectively calculated by the first and second position calculation devices.

Electronic percussion instrument

Based on a peak level of a waveform in a predetermined period after the input of the waveform started and a value indicative of the degree of change in the waveform in the predetermined period, a judging device determines whether the waveform is caused by a strike. Thus, the peak level and a value indicative of the degree of change in the waveform are considered to determine whether the waveform is caused by a strike. A waveform with a small peak level caused by a weak strike is not erroneously detected as noise, while accurate detection of strikes can be obtained.

Striking detection device and method

A display control apparatus is provided. Every time when the level of the signal is obtained, the peak display with respect to the level of the signal is initiated by the first peak display control unit in a predetermined display manner in the display position obtained by the peak position obtaining unit. On the other hand, the previous peak displays being displayed according to the level of the signal obtained at a previous time and a time before the previous time is continued, and the display manner of the previous peak display being displayed is changed according to the second peak display control unit. Accordingly, while one and more than one level are simultaneously displayed on one display device, the temporal sequence of the levels, which is simultaneously displayed with different display manners, can be recognized by the user.

A musical tone control device capable of generating a hi-hat sound intended by the performer operates such that, when striking surface position information corresponds to a first position, instructions are provided to stop generating a musical tone with a first timbre (or that satisfies another predetermined condition), when the striking surface position has reached a predetermined second position higher than the first position after instructions are provided to generate the musical tone. Since, the performer's intention is reflected in the transition state of the striking surface position, a musical tone according to the performer's intention can be generated.

Musical tone control device, system and process

A tone generation control device sets a setting value for crosstalk cancellation. When vibration generated in a target striking surface is detected, a value indicative of the degree of crosstalk that the target received from comparison striking surfaces is calculated. The calculated value is displayed regardless of whether a tone generation instruction has been output. Meanwhile, setting values used for crosstalk cancellation for the respective striking surfaces are also displayed. Therefore, the user can observe and understand as to whether the vibration generated at the target is vibration caused by crosstalk received from the comparison striking surface, such that setting values to be used for crosstalk cancellation can be suitably set.

Musical tone generation control device and method

An electronic percussion instrument can carry out the control of the musical tones that is intended by the performer. The instrument includes electronic controls that set a vibration flag when the instrument is struck and a determination is made as to whether or not a timer has timed a specified time period. If the timer has timed the specified time period, the vibration flag that is stored in the flag memory is reset. If the time period has not been reached, the displacement sensor processing ends and the routine returns to the main processing. In those cases where the vibration flag is not set, or in those cases where the resetting of the vibration flag has completed, a determination is made as to whether or not the upper cymbal has shifted from an open position to the closed position.

An electronic percussion instrument includes input means and musical tone generation control means. The input means allows for a vibration level of a vibration of an operator and position information that conforms to a position of the operator to be input. The musical tone generation control means in one in which whether or not the generation of a musical tone based on the vibration level and the position information is instructed is controlled in those cases where the vibration level has been input by the input means.

Electronic percussion instrument, system, and method with vibration

An electronic percussion instrument includes input means, comparison means, and musical tone generation control means. The input means allows for the input of a vibration of a head section and a vibration of a rim section that have been detected by a striking detection section. The comparison means allows for a comparison of a size of the vibration of the head section and a size of the vibration of the rim section. The musical tone generation control means allows for controlling a generation of a musical tone based on a result of a comparison by the comparison means such that the musical tone corresponds either to the vibration of the head section or to the vibration of the rim section. In those cases where the musical tone corresponds to the vibration of the rim section, the generation of the musical tone can be further controlled.

Electronic percussion instrument, system and method with rim shot detection

An electronic percussion instrument includes input means, correction information storage means, and musical tone generation means. The input means allows for vibration information, which expresses a vibration of an operator, position information, which expresses a position of the operator, and standard position information, which indicates a standard position of the operator, to be input. The correction information storage means allows for correction information to be stored that is based on the position information that has been input in the input means that corresponds to the standard position information that has been input in the input means. The musical tone generation means allows for the generation of a musical tone in conformance with the position information that has been input in the input means that corresponds to the vibration information that has been input and the correction information that has been stored in the correction information storage means.
