In a circulation channel, which is configured at least with an ejection unit, a first pressure adjusting unit, a second pressure adjusting unit, a pump, and a temperature adjusting unit, liquid supplied from the outside flows into the first pressure adjusting unit and then flows out of the first pressure adjusting unit into the ejection unit and the second pressure adjusting unit. The liquid that has flowed out of the ejection unit and the liquid that has flowed out of the first pressure adjusting unit flow into the second pressure adjusting unit and then flow out of the second pressure adjusting unit into the pump. The pump sends the liquid that has flowed out of the second pressure adjusting unit to the first pressure adjusting unit, and the temperature of the circulating liquid is adjusted by the temperature adjusting unit.

Liquid ejection head and liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid ejection head has: a frame having a plurality of ejection ports for ejecting a liquid; a common liquid chamber; a plurality of individual liquid chambers through which the common liquid chamber communicates with each of the ejection ports; and a plurality of energy generating elements disposed in respective individual liquid chambers. A part of a wall of the frame that forms the common liquid chamber is formed of an elastic member capable of deforming elastically, so that a volume of the common liquid chamber can be modified.

Liquid ejection head

An adsorbent consisting of iron oxyhydroxide, having a high adsorption rate and high adsorption efficiency compared with conventional products. The adsorbent particle is an adsorbent particle having a crystal structure of β-iron oxyhydroxide, having an average crystallite diameter of 10 nm or less as measured by X-ray diffraction, wherein 90% or more of volume of adsorbent particle is constituted of granular crystals having crystal particle diameter of 20 nm or less, or columnar crystals having width of 10 nm or less and length of 30 nm or less. The adsorbent particle have at least either of the following characteristics: (A) the adsorbent particle contains metal element other than iron in amount of 0.1 to 20% by mass with respect to iron element, or (B) the adsorbent particle contains sulfur oxoacid ions in an amount of 0.01 to 20% by mass in terms of sulfur element with respect to iron element.

Adsorbent particles

A casing structure, an optical scanner, and an image forming apparatus. The casing structure includes a casing having an opening, a cover that covers the opening of the casing, and a seal disposed between the casing and the cover. In the casing structure, the cover is openable and closable with respect to the casing, and the seal contacting the casing and the cover when the cover is closed. In the casing structure, the casing or the cover including at least one portion contained in the seal in a cross section taken in a direction the cover is opened or closed. The optical scanner includes the casing structure. In the optical scanner, the casing stores a plurality of components to be applied to an image forming apparatus, and the cover has an optical element through which light passes. The image forming apparatus includes the optical scanner.

Casing structure, optical scanner, and image forming apparatus

A housing includes a body having an opening. The body includes a peripheral portion that abuts on the opening. A cover covers at least a part of the opening. A seal is sandwiched between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body. At least one of the cover and the peripheral portion of the body includes a corner portion and a linear portion. The corner portion has a first shape that defines one of a gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and a width of the seal. The linear portion abuts on the corner portion. The linear portion has a second shape that defines the one of the gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and the width of the seal. The second shape is different from the first shape of the corner portion.

Housing, optical scanner, and image forming apparatus

A printing element includes a substrate, an intermediate layer, and a channel forming member layered in this order. The substrate has a common liquid chamber. The channel forming member has a second surface that is a surface facing the substrate via the intermediate layer, and a first surface that is an opposite surface to the second surface. The first surface is formed with a plurality of ejection ports that eject liquid from the common liquid chamber. The second surface is formed with a plurality of channels that allow each of the plurality of ejection ports and the common liquid chamber to communicate with each other, and a plurality of substantially parallel beam structures, the plurality of beam structures forming a slit portion therebetween.

An optical scanning device includes light sources, a deflector, an optical element, and light blockers. The light blockers are spaced apart in a rotation direction of the deflector. An inequality &#x3b8;is satisfied, where when viewed from the rotation axis direction, &#x3b8;is an angle formed by a line segment connecting the end portion of a light blocker disposed most downstream in the rotation direction to a rotation axis center of the deflector and a line segment connecting the end portion of a light blocker disposed most upstream in the rotation direction to the rotation axis center, and &#x3b8;is an angle formed by a line segment connecting an upstream end portion of one mirror surface in the rotation direction to the rotation axis center and a line segment connecting a downstream end portion of the one mirror surface in the rotation direction to the rotation axis center.

A liquid supply member includes a first member, a second member, and a damper member disposed between the first member and the second member, wherein the first member is a member configured to form a liquid chamber, wherein the damper member is a flexible member configured to form the liquid chamber together with the first member, wherein the second member is a member configured to form an atmosphere communication chamber communicating with an ambient atmosphere at a position between the damper member and the second member and opposing the liquid chamber with the damper member in between, and wherein a protrusion portion is formed on a surface of the second member facing the atmosphere communication chamber at a position corresponding to a central part of the damper member, the protrusion portion protruding toward the damper member beyond a connection surface between the damper member and the second member.

A liquid ejection head includes an element substrate having an energy-generating element configured to generate an energy for ejecting a liquid from an ejection orifice, a support member for supporting the element substrate, the support member including a liquid chamber formed therein to supply the liquid to the ejection orifice, and a damper portion for absorbing vibration of the liquid inside the liquid chamber, the damper portion being flexible. The support member has a through-hole for communicating with the liquid chamber at a position located above the liquid chamber in a vertical direction when the liquid ejection head is in a use orientation. The damper portion has a taper portion that tapers downwardly in the vertical direction and is positioned in such a manner that the tapering portion closes the through-hole, and the damper portion and the support member are attached to each other by a fixing member.

A liquid filling method of filling a liquid storage device including a first tank that stores a liquid to be supplied to an ejection head ejecting the liquid and a second tank that stores the liquid to be supplied to the first tank through a connection port provided in the first tank with the liquid, the method including: injecting the liquid from a liquid storage container into the first tank through a first liquid introduction port provided in the first tank, in a state where a second liquid introduction port provided in the second tank is closed.

Liquid storage device and liquid filling method

A resin molded article is equipped with a resin base material layer, a cover layer, and a design layer. A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a recording head that ejects liquid; a sub-tank that is connected to the recording head and temporarily stores the liquid to be supplied to the recording head; a liquid tank that communicates with the sub-tank and is able to be filled with the liquid; a first atmosphere opening unit that is provided in the liquid tank; and a second atmosphere opening unit that is provided in the sub-tank. The second atmosphere opening unit is closable when the liquid tank is filled with the liquid, and the first atmosphere opening unit and the second atmosphere opening unit are able to open the liquid tank and the sub-tank to the atmosphere, respectively, when the sub-tank is filled with the liquid filled in the liquid tank by a hydraulic head pressure.

Liquid ejection apparatus and liquid filling method

Provided is an airflow meter with good precision. In the airflow meter, which is provided with an arithmetic circuit that incorporates air temperature and a sensor module temperature as adjustment elements for the output characteristics of the airflow meter, corrects the output characteristics in accordance with the temperature difference between the air temperature and the sensor module temperature and reduces the correction amount when the absolute value of the difference between the air temperature and the sensor module temperature is small.

Airflow meter

A liquid ejection head including a supplying path supplying a liquid ejected from an ejection port includes a vent path branching from the supplying path to extend along a horizontal direction, the vent path enabling collection of bubbles mixed into the liquid. An inner surface of the vent path extending along the horizontal direction includes an area formed thereon and having a greater contact angle to the liquid than that of an inner surface of the supplying path.

An image forming apparatus includes circuitry, a reader, and an exposure device that drives lighting elements aligned in a main scanning direction to form a first test image. The circuitry acquires density of first sub-areas, into which the first test image is divided in the main scanning direction, and calculates first correction data based on density of each of the first sub-areas and average density of the first sub-areas, to correct light amounts of the lighting elements. The exposure device forms a second test image with the light amounts corrected. The circuitry acquires density of second sub-areas, into which the second test image is divided in the main scanning direction, and calculates second correction data based on density of a second sub-area adjacent to each of the second sub-areas, to further correct the light amounts. The second sub-areas are differently located from the first sub-areas in the main scanning direction.
