The electric connector assembly kit is structured that the inner wire of the end of the shielded cable is fitted and held in the wire holding part of the wire holder and the outer conductor is crimped by the barrel, the connector body is set on the lower side of the wire holder, the inner conductor of the inner wire is connected to the contact and the barrel is press-fitted in the U-shaped slot, the plug cover shell is set on the higher side of the wire holder and made to contact the barrel, and the top end of the coupling piece extending toward the lower side between the U-shaped slots is bent toward the back side in the depth direction and hooked on the plug shell from the lower side to assemble onto the end of the shielded cable.

To provide a connector that enables change in the arrangement of signal connections 'S' and grounding connections 'G', merely by putting short-circuit pins in the housing of the connector, but without needing any change made in the circuit pattern on printed circuit boards that are stacked one on another to be electrically connected one to another. The connector has a housing () and a number of vertical holes () pierced in and extending between a top and a bottom of the housing so as to penetrate it, the holes being for insertion of terminal pins (). A front and rear walls () of the housing respectively have horizontal slots () arranged to form an upper row and a lower row to receive contacts (), with each slot extending to intersect the corresponding vertical hole () at a right angle. One of the printed boards () is connected to the contacts held in the slots, and the terminal pins () surface mounted on the other printed circuit board are fitted in the vertical holes () so as to be electrically connected to the contacts (). The connector further has short-circuit pins () and canalled apertures () that are formed in the front and rear walls () each in communication with the two adjacent slots (), such that each short-circuit pin () fitted in the chosen one of the canalled apertures () is kept in touch with the two contacts () held in the two adjacent slots, thereby establishing electrical engagement of the one contact () with the other (), thus changing arrangement of signal connections &#x2018;S&#x2019; and grounding connections &#x2018;G&#x2019; on the printed circuit board ().

Connector for printed circuit boards stacked one on another

A connector is provided with a cable retainer which includes thin plate extending in one direction, five projections projecting from the thin plate part, and a ground part projecting from the projections. The cable retainer clips cables by projections plastically deformed by caulking. Furthermore, when the cable retainer is attached to a housing, it is arranged so that the ends of the connect portions of the ground part face the terminals that serve as ground electrodes.

Electrical connector

A connector comprises signal terminals that extend in one direction, a conductive tubular shell that encloses at least the ends of the signal terminals, the axis of the shell being extending in a inserting direction to the opposing connector, and a ground terminal that turns over inwardly at a rear opening edge of the shell and projects so as to extend to the portion near the front opening edge of the inserting direction. When the connector is fitted to the opposing connector, the signal terminals and the ground terminal clip a projecting part of the opposing connector, whereby the signal terminals are electrically connected to the opposing signal terminals formed on the projecting part, and the ground terminal is electrically connected to the opposing ground terminal formed on the projecting part.

A connector is provided with a cable retainer which has a thin plate extending in one direction, five main parts projecting from the thin plate so as to align along the extending direction, and caulking portions projecting from the main parts so as to cross at right angles in the extending direction of the main parts. The cable retainer clips cables between the caulking portions plastically deformed by caulking and the main parts.

An electric contact of a plug connector is formed by folding a blank, and is inserted into a receiving cell of a housing and fitted to the housing. The electric contact includes a tab formed of a base plate and a contact plate folded so as to overlap one another in the thickness direction. The rear end of the base plate includes a protruding part that protrudes beyond the rear end of the contact plate in the depth direction. When the contact body is set in the receiving cell of the housing, the base plate of the tab protruding out of the receiving cell is supported by the housing, and the protruding part of the base plate is fitted in and held by the housing to prevent the tab from lifting from the housing in the thickness direction.

A plug connector with a locking mechanism includes a housing having a body and an inserting part, a contact received therein, lock arms provided on both sides in a width direction of the housing and extending rearward in a depth direction and having protrusions provided at top ends thereof, and control arms provided on both sides in the width direction of the housing and extending forwardly in the depth direction. The control arms transmit forces working inwardly in the width direction to the lock arms. The control arms are arranged in such a way that when the inserting part is inserted into the cavity of the receptacle connector, the protrusions will be caught on the catching faces of the receptacle connector, and when the top ends of the control arms are pressed inwardly in the width direction, the protrusions will be released from the catching faces.

An electric connector includes an insulating body, wherein connection parts to be connected with counterpart connectors are arranged in the height direction, a conductive outer wall shell put on the body and having an opening on the front side, and a conductive inner wall shell for partitioning the connection parts. Both the ends, in the width direction, of the intermediate part of the inner wall shell are extended to fasten to the outer wall shell, and at least one end is formed into an approximately-U-shaped thrust-in part rising from the front side toward the rear side when seen in the width direction, and two top ends on the rear side of the thrust-in part are fastened into two slits formed in the outer wall shell. Thereby, the coupling strength between the outer and inner wall shells and the anti-prying strength against prying forces exerted by counterpart connectors are enhanced significantly, and the electric connector is reliably prevented from being damaged.
