A small and light-weight flowmeter realizes the compensation of a zero point drift. A mass flowmeter includes: a centrifugal force/centripetal force detection strain gauge adhered to a part acted upon by a centrifugal force or a centripetal force of fluid in a pipe line in which the fluid flows and a flow rate zero point drift compensation strain gauge adhered to a position different from that of the centrifugal force/centripetal force detection strain gauge. A pulse wave propagation time between the two points is used to compensate a zero point drift of a flow rate.

Strain gauges A, B for a bending portion cross each other and are stuck to a strain gauge sticking portionfor a bending portion located in a portion applying centrifugal force or centripetal force of a fluid thereto in a bending portionin a bending circular tubeformed by bending a tube circulating the fluid therein. Further, strain gauges C, D for compensating static pressure and temperature cross each other and are stuck to a strain gauge sticking portionfor a straight tube portion located in a straight tube portionconnected to the bending portionin the bending circular tube. Detecting signals of strain gauges A, B for a bending portion and strain gauges C, D for compensation are guided to an opposite position of a bridge circuit

Mass flow meter

A control system for a continuous flow rotary blood pump is provided. A normal operating range of the blood pump is established. The normal operating range may comprise a normal pump flow range and a normal pressure head range. A target rotational speed of the pump is set in accordance with the normal operating range. A current operating condition of the blood pump is determined. The current operating condition may comprise a current pump flow, a current pressure head, and a current rotational speed of the pump. The current operating condition is compared with the normal operating range. An appropriate control algorithm is selected from a plurality of available control algorithms based on the comparison. The target rotational speed of the pump is adjusted using the selected control algorithm to maintain or recover the normal operating range.
