An illumination system includes a light projection device, an illuminance measurement unit, a lighting device, and a control device. The light projection device projects an image to a space. The illuminance measurement unit measures an illuminance value of a location where the illuminance measurement unit is placed in the space. The lighting device has a dimming function for illuminating the location in the space with a brightness. The control device includes an illuminance setting unit, a difference calculation unit, and an illumination light adjusting unit. The illuminance setting unit sets an illuminance value of the location. The difference calculation unit calculates a difference between the illuminance value set by the illuminance setting unit and the illuminance value measured by the illuminance measurement unit. The illumination light adjusting unit adjusts a brightness of the lighting device such that the difference calculated by the difference calculation unit is reduced.

A lighting control device which controls a lighting device, and includes: a feature quantity calculator which calculates a feature quantity of image content to be reproduced and projected by an image reproducing device; and a lighting controller which controls light emission of the lighting device based on the feature quantity calculated by the feature quantity calculator.

A lighting control device includes a sensor that detects a state of a user and a gesture made by the user and a controller that controls a lighting characteristic of a lighting device. In the lighting control device and/or the lighting control method, it is determined (by the controller) whether a gesture made by the user and acquired by the sensor matches a first predetermined gesture including a predetermined hand shape and a predetermined movement of both hands of the user made within a detecting region between a boundary 30% larger than a periphery of a projection region illuminated by the lighting device and a boundary 30% smaller than the periphery of the projection region. When it is determined that the gesture matches the first predetermined gesture, a size of the projection region is changed (by the controller).

An illumination apparatus includes a first unit, a second unit, and a third unit. The first unit includes an excitation light source that produces excitation light. The second unit includes a light-for-illumination phosphor. The light-for-illumination phosphor produces and outputs light for illumination when the light-for-illumination phosphor receives excitation light. Furthermore, the second unit produces and outputs light for projection. The light for illumination and the light for projection are outputted in a time division manner. The third unit includes a light shaping member. The third unit shapes the light for illumination by the light shaping member and guides the shaped light for illumination to the outside as illumination light, and shapes the light for projection by the light shaping member and guides the shaped light for projection to the outside as projection light.

An optical projection apparatus includes a light specification setting unit for setting a specification of a light, a shape setting unit for setting a shape made by the light, a position setting unit for setting a position of the shape, a size setting unit for setting a size of the shape, an optical data generation unit for generating optical data based on the specification, the shape, the position, and the size. The optical projection apparatus further includes a light drawing unit for generating light drawing data by performing a drawing process with the optical data, an optical projection unit for projecting the shape at the position with the light drawing data, and a manipulation unit for allowing a user to set one or more parameters indicating the specification, the shape, the position, and the size.

An illumination apparatus includes: an illumination light setter which sets illumination light for illuminating an illumination area which includes at least one of a space or an object; an image light setter which sets image light for projecting a projection image which includes at least one of a graphic or a character; and a light projector which emits the illumination light set by the illumination light setter, and projects the image light set by the image light setter.

A light projection device capable of irradiating light only onto an object includes: a light projector in which an object and a back surface of the object are taken as a projectable range; a shadow region detector that detects a shadow that occurs on the back surface of the object by projection light; and a controller that corrects a shadow region so that a projection region of the light projector and the shadow region can coincide with each other on the back surface of the object, sets the corrected shadow region as a light projection range and sets, as a non-light projection range, a region other than the shadow region, and sets projection light projected onto the set light projection range, wherein the light projector projects the projection light onto a range where the object is present by projecting the set projection light onto the set light projection range.

A visual function testing device includes: a visual target image presentation unit that presents a visual target image; a visual target image rendering unit that renders the visual target image to be presented on the visual target image presentation unit; a visual function test item selection unit that selects a visual function test item; a visual target image generation unit that generates a visual target image corresponding to the test item selected by the visual function test item selection unit; a viewpoint distance input unit that inputs a distance between the visual target image presentation unit and a viewpoint of an observer; and a visual angle input unit that inputs an angle to be made by the visual target image and the viewpoint of the observer. Based on the viewpoint distance and the visual angle, a display size and display position of a visual target image are calculated.

A facial sketch creation device, a configuration information generation device, a configuration information generation method, and a storage medium that stores a computer program, which acquires position information for characteristic points that pertain to facial features within a facial image of a user, acquires a classification result in which the facial image has been classified as a facial type, using the position information for the characteristic points and based on relative positions of the facial features, and generates configuration information by taking an initial configuration that is based on the position information for the characteristic points and performing modification of the initial configuration by enhancing characteristics that indicate the classified facial type.
