A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge unit, a position detector, and circuitry. The liquid discharge unit has a liquid discharge port and discharges a liquid from the liquid discharge port toward an object. The position detector detects a position of the liquid discharge unit relative to the object. The circuitry calculates a movement trajectory of the liquid discharge unit based on the position of the liquid discharge unit detected by the position detector. Further, the circuitry performs a first operation of causing the liquid discharge unit to move along the movement trajectory without discharging the liquid and performs a second operation of causing the liquid discharge unit to move along the movement trajectory while discharging the liquid to the object after the first operation.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge unit and a contact detection unit. The liquid discharge unit has a liquid discharge port from which a liquid is discharged toward an object. The liquid discharge unit is movable along at least one of a first axis and a second axis intersecting the first axis and movable along a third axis intersecting the first axis and the second axis. The third axis is parallel to a direction in which the liquid is discharged from the liquid discharge port toward the object. The medium holder presses an inner circumferential surface of the roll medium in a direction from the rotation axis of the roll medium toward the inner circumferential surface of the roll medium.

A sheet cutting device includes a cutter, a movable member, a driving device, and a sheet holder. The movable member moves the cutter in a cutting direction. The driving device drives the movable member. The sheet holder is disposed on a downstream side of a sheet cutting position of the cutter in a sheet conveyance direction, to hold a sheet. The sheet holder includes a sheet holding member that is disposed on a sheet cutting start side of the cutter and is movable to a sheet holding position at which the sheet holding member holds the sheet and a non-holding position at which the sheet holding member does not hold the sheet. When the sheet is cut by the cutter, the sheet holding member moves to the sheet holding position. After cutting of the sheet has been completed, the sheet holding member moves to the non-holding position.

A roll holder is inserted with a hollow tube of one of a first roll having a first inner diameter and a second roll having a second inner diameter greater than the first inner diameter. The roll holder includes a holder and a cam assembly that are supported by a support shaft and movable in an axial direction of the support shaft. The cam assembly includes an abutment and a cam. The abutment contacts a lateral end of the second roll in the axial direction of the support shaft. The cam presses against one of a first presser and a second presser of the holder in a radial direction of the support shaft to cause the one of the first presser and the second presser to press against and hold an inner circumferential face of the hollow tube of the one of the first roll and the second roll.

A roll holder includes a plurality of holder members to fit in and hold axial ends of any of a first roll with a first inner diameter and a second roll with a second inner diameter greater than the first inner diameter. Each holder member includes a base opposed to an axial end of any of the first roll and the second roll; a plurality of support switches; and a lock. The support switch is movable in an axial direction between a support position to support the second roll with the second inner diameter and a retracted position retracted from the support position to support the first roll with the first inner diameter. The lock locks movement of the plurality of support switches and releases locking of movement of the plurality of support switches when each of the plurality of holder members is fitted in the first roll.
