A biological electrode that includes an electrode member made of a conductive rubber having a plurality of electrode portions in contact with a body of a subject. The plurality of electrode portions are protrusively formed on an electrode portion forming surface of the electrode member and arranged circularly or concentrically on the electrode portion forming surface. Further, each of the plurality of electrode portions is formed so that a cross-sectional area thereof gradually decreases from a proximal end portion thereof toward a distal end portion thereof and a center of a cross section of the distal end portion is positioned radially outward of a center of a cross section of the proximal end portion as viewed from an arrangement center of the plurality of electrode portions.

Biological electrode

A method is provided for producing a bioelectrode capable of reducing potential variation noise due to a polarization voltage. The method for producing the bioelectrode comprises forming an electrically conductive rubber body containing a silicone rubber and a silver powder, and immersing the electrically conductive rubber body in an inorganic salt-containing solution at 70&#xb0; C. or more and 180&#xb0; C. or less.

Method for producing bioelectrode

An object of the present invention is to provide a bioelectrode, which can stably measure biological information and is suitable for repeated use, and a method of manufacturing the bioelectrode. This object is solved by a bioelectrode comprising a silver coating layer provided on a conductive silicone rubber electrode, wherein the conductive silicone rubber electrode is composed of a silicone rubber containing conductive carbon particles, the silver coating layer is composed of silicone rubber and at least one of agglomerated silver powder and flake-like silver powder, and the silver coating layer has a thickness of 18 &#x3bc;m to 80 &#x3bc;m, and, preferably, in which the silver powder contains both the agglomerated silver powder and the flake-like silver powder.

Bioelectrode and method of manufacturing the bioelectrode

A bioelectrode includes a conductive rubber electrode and a silver coating layer provided on the conductive rubber electrode and containing a silicone rubber and silver particles. The silver coating layer contains a modified silicone and contains ions for ion conduction among the silver particles.

A method for producing a silver-silver chloride electrode includes: producing a paste by mixing silver powder, silver chloride powder, a dispersant, and fumed silica powder with a liquid silicone rubber binder; coating the paste on a substrate made of silicone rubber; curing the paste on the substrate to form an electrode containing silver and silver chloride; and immersing the electrode in a sodium chloride aqueous solution.
