In a distributing method for sucking a desired amount of a sample liquid in a sample vessel and discharging the thus sucked sample liquid into a reaction vessel, a probe for sucking and discharging the liquid is connected to a syringe driven by a pulse motor. A photoelectric detector is provided for detecting whether the sample liquid is existed or not up to a predetermined level in the sample vessel and an actual amount of the sample liquid aspirated by the syringe is detected by a counter which counts clock pulses during the aspirating operation. When the liquid level descends lower than the predetermined level, the counting operation is stopped. The actual amount of the aspirated liquid in the probe is compared with a desired amount stored in a memory. When the actual amount of the sucked liquid is smaller than the desired value, an alarm is produced.

A coloring-decoloring-drying apparatus for electrophoresis comprising a coloring-decoloring container having an opening used for inserting a carrier, pouring coloring and decoloring liquid agents and other purpose and rollers arranged in the vicinity of the opening of said coloring-decoloring container, and adapted in such a manner that a carrier sent from an electrophoretic apparatus is inserted into said coloring-decoloring container by operating said rollers, the rear end of the carrier is held between said rollers, coloring and decoloring liquid agents are poured into said container for coloring and decoloring said carrier while it is held in the condition described above, and then the carrier is dried by blowing hot air through said opening. Said coloring-decoloring-drying apparatus for electrophoresis is so designed as to be capable to performing coloring, decoloring and drying of a carrier without injuring or tearing the carrier.

An apparatus for applying a given amount of blood serum sample to a sample bearing film which has been wetted with Veronal-Veronal soda buffer solution comprises an applicator with an application chip holding a given amount of the blood serum sample, a hygrometer for detecting a humidity of an atmosphere surrounding the wetted sample bearing film, a timer circuit for presetting an application time in accordance with the detected humidity and producing a timing signal when said present application time has elapsed, and a control circuit for receiving the timing signal to drive the applicator to apply the blood serum sample to the film which is in the most favorable wet condition.

A method for determining boundary points in electrophoresis comprising a step to determine points on the abscissa corresponding to peak tops on a densitogram traced on the basis of electrophoresis of a standard sample as standard positions, a step to locate positions corresponding to said standard positions on a densitogram traced on the basis of electrophoresis of an unknown sample, a step to determine the point corresponding to the lowest concentration among points having minimum values between each pair of neighboring standard positions as the normal boundary point and a step to calculate an integral or a value proportional to the integral of each fraction delimited by the boundary points thus determined.
